Idiopathic megacolon and megarectum are rare clinical conditions characterized by irreversible dilation of the colon and rectum without an identifiable organic cause. The underlying pathophysiology remains poorly understood, though hypotheses suggest abnormalities in the enteric nervous system or smooth muscle dysfunction. These conditions present significant diagnostic and therapeutic challenges, especially in cases refractory to conservative treatment.

The American Heart Association added healthy sleep to its metrics to define ideal cardiovascular health. Little is known about the association between sleep and CVD prevalence among Asian subgroups.

TLRs have the great potential that can directly recognize the specific molecular structures on the surface of pathogens, damaged senescent cells and apoptotic host cells. Available evidence suggests that TLRs have crucial roles in maintaining tissue homeostasis through control of the inflammatory and tissue repair responses during injury.

The study aims to conduct a systematic review and network meta-analysis (NMA) regarding TCIM therapies for treating mild/moderate acute COVID-19, potentially informing the WHO guideline development and clinical decision-making.
Methods And Analysis: We will search Embase, MEDLINE, Virtual Health Library on Traditional Complementary and Integrative Medicine, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, WHO's International Clinical Trials Registry Platform with additional searches of Chinese and Korean literature sources for randomised controlled trials comparing TCIM with placebo, standard care, no treatment or with an alternate type of TCIM to treat COVID-19.
Hyponatraemia is a common electrolyte disorder. For patients with severe hyponatraemia, intensive care unit (ICU) admission may be required. This will enable close monitoring and allow safe management of sodium levels effectively.

Three content-validated questionnaires were used to collect AE information: two completed by the patient (pre-treatment [T0] and 2-7 days post-treatment [T2]) and one completed by the provider immediately post-treatment [T1]. Any new or worsened symptom was considered an AE and further classified as mild, moderate, severe or serious.

We describe a case series of nine pregnancies in four patients with FVII deficiency diagnosed at a tertiary care referral center in India between 2012 and 2023. Out of nine pregnancies, six had cesarean deliveries, two had vaginal deliveries, and one had dilatation and curettage for unwanted pregnancies.

Here, we bridge this gap by differentiating human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) into primitive LYVE1 macrophages (hESC-macrophages) that stably engraft within contractile cardiac microtissues composed of hESC-cardiomyocytes and fibroblasts. Engraftment induces a human fetal cardiac macrophage gene program enriched in efferocytic pathways.

Rhenium skin cancer therapy (Rhenium SCT) is a novel noninvasive radionuclide nonmelanoma skin cancer treatment, which can be provided in a single outpatient session. The aim of this prospective, multicenter, single-arm, international, phase IV study (EPIC-Skin) is to assess clinic- and patient-reported outcomes of Rhenium SCT as a treatment for basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC).

Methods: Using the 2005-2020 National Vital Statistics System, we examined NPC mortality by age, race (non-Hispanic black, Hispanic white (HW), non-Hispanic white (NHW), Chinese, Filipino, Asian Indian, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese), sex, and nativity (Untied States or foreign-born).
Purpose: Genomic tests, such as the Oncotype Dx 21-gene and Prosigna risk of recurrence (ROR-P) assay, are commonly used for breast cancer prognostication. Emerging data suggest variability between assays, but this has not been compared in diverse populations.
Materials And Methods: RNA sequencing was performed on 647 previously untreated stage I-III estrogen receptor-positive/human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative tumors in the Carolina Breast Cancer Study, which oversampled Black and younger women (age <50 years at diagnosis), using research versions of two common RNA-based prognostic assays: ROR-P and the 21-gene recurrence score (RS).
Background: To describe reasons for deviations from planned chemotherapy treatments in women with nonmetastatic breast cancer that contribute to less-than-planned receipt of chemotherapy.
Methods: Electronic medical records for patients receiving chemotherapy were reviewed for adverse events and treatment modifications. Log-binomial regression models were used to estimate relative risks (RRs) with 95% CIs to examine associations between chemotherapy modifications, patient characteristics, and treatment modalities.
Background: Facing a surge of COVID-19 cases in late August 2021, the U.S. state of Illinois re-enacted its COVID-19 mask mandate for the general public and issued a requirement for workers in certain professions to be vaccinated against COVID-19 or undergo weekly testing.

Genotyping of based on the 18S rRNA gene revealed the presence of two, three, four or five genotypes. In previous published reports, these genotypes have been labelled either alphabetically or numerically, and there is no uniformity in naming of these genotypes.

While there is substantiated evidence confirming the beneficial effects of calcium in the treatment, management, and prevention of various health conditions, including cancer, conflicting studies are imperative to acknowledge the potential negative role of calcium supplementation. The studies on calcium supplementation showed that a specific dose can help in the maintenance of good human health, and in the control of different types of diseases, including cancer.

The aim of this study was to provide real-world performance data for first-line pembrolizumab-containing treatments for head and neck squamous cell carcinoma in the palliative setting in Scotland.
