Stable isotope ratios of carbon (13C/12C, δ13C) and nitrogen (15N/14N, δ15N) in snail-host tissue (the foot and hepatopancreas) and trematode parasites on two stages of their life cycle were analyzed. Trophic structure in co-occurring trematode larvae was examined in the following species: five species of cercariae (Echinoparyphium recurvatum, Hypodereum conoideum, Plagiorchis mutationis, Diplostomum chromatophorum and D. volvens) and two species of metacercariae (Cotylurus cornutus and Echinoparyphium recurvatum) within two closely related snail hosts Lymnaea stagnalis and L.

The study was targeted to apply mass spectrometry analysis for inter-specific differentiation of collection strains of representatives of genus vibrio and identification of comma bacilli extracted from samples of boat ballast waters. The samples consisted of 207 museum strains of cultures and 347 microorganisms from samples of boat ballast waters. The identification of microorganisms was implemented using MALDI-TOF mass spectrometers.

A comparative analysis of changes of activities of detoxifying and antioxidant enzymes was carried out in the body homogenate of the pond snail Lymnaea stagnalis. Juvenile snails with the shell size of 4-6 mm were infested with cercariae of one (Echinoparyphium aconiatum or E. recurvatum or Moliniella anceps) or two (E.

Aim: To study diagnostic value of developed antigenic polymeric diagnostic kit for epidemiologic surveillance in natural foci of Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) in South federal district.

Materials And Methods: Novel antigenic diagnostic kit on the basis of polymeric microspheres for reaction of volume agglomeration was developed. The kit is designed for detection of virus-specific antibodies in human serum and in serum of agricultural animals.

The epidemiological zoning of the territory of the Rostov region has been made with the use of the epidemic process patterns and the data indicating the links between the landscape and the natural focus of infection. The spread of infected ticks has been established. The participation of several carrier species in the circulation of Crimean-Congo haemorrhagic fever virus has been confirmed.

Opisthorchis somatic, metabolic, and tegumental antigens were studied by using immunoblotting. It was shown that among several antigenic components, only the somatic protein with a molecular weight of about 100 kD failed to react with noninvased human sera.
