Objective: The management of chronic prostatitis/ chronic pelvic pain syndrome type III (CP/CPPS) has been always considered complex due to several biopsychological factors underlying the disease. In this clinical study, we aimed to evaluate the efficacy of the treatment with Palmitoylethanolamide, Epilobium and Calendula extract in patients with CP/CPPS III.
Materials And Methods: From June 2023 to July 2023, we enrolled 45 consecutive patients affected by CP/CPPS type III in three different institution.
In the current situation, wine areas are affected by several problems in a context of global warming: asymmetric maturities, pH increasing, high alcohol degree and flat wines with low freshness and poor aroma profile. The use of emerging biotechnologies allows to control or manage such problems. Emerging non- as are very useful for controlling pH by the formation of stable lactic acid from sugars with a slight concomitant alcohol reduction.

The symptoms have always been the same, whereas the possibility of treatment has changed throughout the history. Gaius Plinius Secondus, known as Pliny the Elder, in his work "Naturalis Historia," described the pain produced by a urinary stone as an excruciating torment.

Aims: We aimed to compare the functional outcomes and safety profile of < 75 years old (Group A) and ≥ 75 years old (Group B) patients.
The enological characteristics and the performances of a yeast autolysate produced by high pressure homogenization (HPH-YD) were investigated for the first time in white wine and model solution, in comparison with a thermolysate (T-YD) and a commercial yeast derivative (COMM). In wine-like medium, HPH-YD showed a significant release of glucidic colloids (on average, slightly higher than the other products), also leading to a greater glutathione solubilization with respect to T-YD. Concerning the volatile composition of the autolysates, HPH-YD was characterized by the highest concentration of alcohols and esters, while showing an average amount of fatty acids, carbonyls and heterocyclic compounds lower than COMM.

Some of the advantages of GreenLight photoselective vaporization (PVP) are shorter catheterization time and hospital stay compared to TURP. Post-operative acute urinary retention (pAUR) leads to patients' discomfort, prolonged hospital stay and increased health care costs.

The effect of 20% cluster thinning on Ribolla Gialla ( L.) sparkling wine aroma, lipid compounds, and aromatic amino acid (AAA) metabolites composition was studied for three consecutive seasons in two vineyards located in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, Italy.

However, the debate on the effectiveness of laser therapy compared to conventional techniques is still open. The aim of our study is to analyze and describe the use of GreenLight laser prostate surgery in Italy, with regard to the surgical techniques performed and the surgical and functional outcomes at mid-term follow-up.

Most of the publications about PEF in winemaking report data concerning international varieties, poorly considering minor cultivars and the medium/long-term effects of the treatment on wine composition during storage. PEF was applied at different specific energies (2, 10, and 20 kJ kg) on grapes of the low-color red cv.

GreenLight laser vaporization of the prostate (photoselective vaporization of the prostate [PVP]) is a safe and effective procedure for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia. Long-term results and advantages of PVP in patients with large and symptomatic prostate are still under evaluation. In a multicenter experience, patients who underwent standard or anatomical PVP were retrospectively reviewed.

Methods: The bibliographic search with the included terms (prostate, benign prostatic hyperplasia, benign prostatic enlargement, lower urinary tract symptoms, water jet dissection, aquablation, Aquabeam®) produced a literature of 32 articles altogether. After removing papers of not interest or articles which the outcomes could not be deduced, nine studies were examined for a total of 664 patients screened.
Objective: To compare in a randomised, open-label, non-inferiority clinical study, the efficacy and tolerability of Serenoa repens (SeR) + selenium (Se) + lycopene (Ly) (SeR-Se-Ly) therapy vs tadalafil 5 mg in men with lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS).
Patients And Methods: From May 2015 to January 2017, 427 patients were enrolled in 21 different centres (International Standard Randomised Controlled Trial Number Register [ISRCTN] 73316039). Inclusion criteria included: age between 50 and 80 years, International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS) ≥12, maximum urinary flow rate (Q ) ≤ 15 mL/s, and post-void residual (PVR) <100 mL.
Background: Many potential chemopreventive agents have been used in PCa prevention, including selenium (Se) and lycopene (Ly). However, their role has been matter of debate over the years, due to potential of promotion of PCa.
Purpose: In this study we aimed at evaluating the incidence risk of prostate cancer (PCa) in a cohort of patients treated with Se and Ly.
The surgical treatment of benign prostatic obstruction is changing over the time, thanks the increase evidence about the successful role of laser techniques in this surgery. We aimed to compare prostatic GreenLight photovaporization (PVP) to bipolar transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) with regard to lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) improvement through the evaluation of BPH6. We enrolled 220 consecutive subjects affected by LUTS.

We evaluated the efficacy and tolerability of combination therapy between Serenoa Repens (SeR), Lycopene (Ly), and Selenium (Se) + tamsulosin versus single therapies.
Methods: PROCOMB trial (ISRCTN78639965) was a randomized double-blinded, double-dummy multicenter study of 225 patients between 55 and 80 years old, PSA ≤ 4 ng/ml, IPSS ≥12, prostate volume ≤60 cc, Qmax ≤15 ml/sec, postvoid residual urine (PVR) <150 ml.
Objective: The aim of the study is to investigate the relationship between urinary cytology, traditional indexes of malignancy of bladder carcinoma and DNA-ploidy (diploid, near-diploid, aneuploid).
Methods: 52 specimens of bladder cancers (transitional cell carcinoma) were obtained from 46 patients at TURB and from 6 patients at radical cystectomy. In every specimen the nuclear content of DNA was investigated using the cytofluorimetric method.
Aims And Background: After radical cystectomy, with or without pelvic radiotherapy, more than 50% of patients affected by infiltrating bladder cancer died of distant metastases. Polychemotherapy yields 25% complete remissions (CR) in patients with invasive transitional cell bladder carcinoma; although many concerns exist about the duration of such CR. This study was undertaken with the aim of evaluating the efficacy and safety of an integrated chemo-radiotherapeutic treatment, in order to broaden indications to a conservative surgical therapy.

Systemic antiblastic polychemotherapy has been reported to achieve a complete remission rate of approximately 30% in patients with infiltrating bladder TCC, although there are still doubts relative to the duration of such complete remissions. This study investigated the efficacy and tolerability of a preoperative chemo- and radiotherapeutic treatment modality and the possibility of performing preservative surgery.

As a matter of fact, it can also assume the features of a reno-ureteral colic. This kind of symptom, however, is more frequently combined with macro-hematuria and seldom presents alone, even in the initial phases of the clinical course.

Their observation seem to confirm that the distal urethral stenosis is generally functional, because often an anatomical obstruction can not be detected with the bougie a boule calibration. The urodynamic and urovideocystographic methods of study allow to differentiate three types of functional urethral stenosis that are not detectable with the radiologic examination alone.
