Six previously unknown zwitterions with positively and negatively charged [NHN] hydrogen bonds were synthesized by acylation of 4,5-bis(dimethylamino)-1-tosylamino-8-aminonaphthalene with subsequent alkaline treatment of the resulting 8-acylamino derivatives. Using NMR and XRD measurements in conjunction with quantum chemical DFT/PBE1PBE/6-311++G(d,p) calculations, it was shown that the negatively charged [NHN] bond in such compounds commonly differs from the [NHN] bond by significantly lower linearity, higher asymmetry, and moderate to strong paramagnetic shift of the chelated NH proton signal. Among other remarkable findings, the most important are (1) unusually high polarity (μ = 21-26 D) of the obtained zwitterions, (2) sharp difference in structures of the solid 1,8-bis(tosylated) zwitterion (BTZ) grown from MeCN or DMF, and (3) registration for one of the stereoisomers of BTZ with the record short [NHN] hydrogen bridge (N···N = 2.

Conceptually new methods of hydrate formation are proposed. The first one is based on the shock wave impact on a water-bubble medium. It is shown that the hydrate formation rate in this process is typically very high.

Shifts from the expected nuclear magnetic resonance frequencies of antimony and bismuth donors in silicon of greater than a megahertz are observed in electrically detected magnetic resonance spectra. Defects created by ion implantation of the donors are discussed as the source of effective electric field gradients generating these shifts via quadrupole interaction with the nuclear spins. The experimental results are modeled quantitatively by molecular orbital theory for a coupled pair consisting of a donor and a spin-dependent recombination readout center.

The first hybrid base constructed from 1,8-bis(dimethylamino)naphthalene (proton sponge or DMAN) and glycine, N-methyl-N-(8-dimethylamino-1-naphthyl)aminoacetic acid, was synthesised in high yield and its hydrobromide was structurally characterised and used to determine the acid-base properties via potentiometric titration. It was found that the basic strength of the DMAN-glycine base (pKa = 11.57, H2O) is on the level of amidine amino acids like arginine and creatine and its structure, zwitterionic vs.

In the article considers the influence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and cardiac dyssyn- chrony (DYS) on health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in patients with chronic heart failure (CHF) by means of Minnesota Living with Heart Failure Questionnaire (MLHFQ). It was found a negative impact of T2DM both on the overall assessment; and on the physical and emotional components of the HRQoL.in patients with CHE DYS also has a negative effect on HRQoL both in patients with isolated CHF and patients with CHF and concomitant T2DM, but its influence is mediated mainly by physical component.

The study included 90 patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) with NYHA FC I-II cardiac insufficiency professionally exposed to ionizing radiation (IR). 30 patients had isolated CHD, 30 presented with CHD and concomitant euthyroid autoimmune thyroiditis (ALT) and 30 with hypothyroid AIT. The control group consisted of 30 patients with the same pathologies unexposed to IR.

This study evaluates the impact of hypoglycemia on the lives of Ukrainian patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The secondary objective was to explore patient-physician relationships and the attitudes of patients towards various informational resources on diabetes management. Three focus groups with 26 patients were conducted.

Unlabelled: The study included patients with chronic heart failure (CHF) associated with type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM). Dyssynchrony (DS) is a frequent cause of unfavourable prognosis in CHF patients. The relationship between DS and left ventricle (LV) geometry in patients with CHF and DM is virtually unexplored.

Assessing state of various hemostasis levels in patients having pulmonary diseases caused by dust, in accordance with respiratory failure severity, enables to diagnose early changes confirming hypoxia. The most reliable parameters are changes in vascular and platelet hemostasis and in fibrinolysis system.

The investigation of 55 patients with chronic adrenocortical insufficiency has shown an increase in the intensity of lipid peroxidation against a background of blood plasma alpha-tocopherol (the main endogenous antioxidant) concentration. The use of vitamin E in multimodality treatment together with substitution hormone therapy resulted in the normalization of indices of lipid peroxidation and antioxidant system necessitating the incorporation of the drug in therapeutic measures in chronic adrenocortical insufficiency.

The authors give a description of methods of diagnosis and drug optimization of complicated forms of healing of myocardial infarction. It is emphasized that measures of optimization facilitate the clinical course of the disease, reduce the frequency of development of postinfarction aneurysms and further the decrease of lethality.

Agents effecting healing of the infarction zone were used in treatment of 326 patients with macrofocal myocardial infarction. In hyporeactive myocardial infarction stimulators of reparative processes, namely, methyluracil, sodium nucleinate, riboxin, retabolil, phenabolil). In hypereactive myocardial infarction antiinflammatory agents (amidopyrin, butadion, ibuprophen, indomethacin and oth.
