Article Synopsis
  • This study examined the use of streptomycin (STR) to manage citrus huanglongbing (HLB) caused by 'Liberibacter asiaticus' (CLas) through foliar spray and trunk injection on citrus trees.
  • After foliar spray, STR levels peaked shortly and did not significantly impact CLas levels, while trunk injection showed sustained STR levels and a significant reduction in CLas titers over time.
  • The research determined that a minimum effective concentration of 1.92 µg/g STR was necessary to suppress CLas to undetectable levels, aiding in the management of HLB in citrus plants.
