Garengeot's hernia: two case reports with CT diagnosis and literature review.

Unlabelled: Garengeot's hernia (GH) is defined as the presence of the appendix inside a femoral hernia. It occurs in 0.9% of femoral hernias and is usually an incidental finding during surgery.

Percutaneous drainage as a first therapeutic step prior to surgery in liver hydatid cyst abscess: Is it worth it?

Aim: To delay surgery until the patient is in a better condition, and thus to decrease postoperative morbidity.

Methods: Using this algorithm we treated three patients aged 55, 75 and 80 years. In all three patients the clinical presentation was fever without a clear source of infection; all had nonspecific symptoms such as general malaise, dyspnea, and abdominal discomfort in the previous 15 d.

Wrapping in pancreatic surgery: a systematic review.

Background: Wrapping in pancreatic surgery involves the use of the omentum or falciform ligament (FL) to wrap the local retroperitoneal vessels, the pancreatojejunal anastomosis or the pancreatic section of distal pancreatectomy. However, there is no clear evidence that wrapping in fact provides benefits. We have performed a systematic review of the literature about this topic.

Retroperitoneal abscess due to dropped gallstones after laparoscopic cholecystectomy.

Complications of dropped gallstones after laparoscopic cholecystectomy are infrequent but retroperitoneal abscess is extremely rare. We present a new case, discuss causes, diagnostic methods, preventive measures and therapeutical options.
