The pharmacokinetics of propranolol were investigated in obese and healthy weight groups. Research studies in relation to the presented topic were gathered, evaluated, and compared to distinguish variabilities involved amongst different lipophilic drugs and how they impacted the clinical effectiveness. Propranolol is a lipophilic drug so it was predicted that the pharmacokinetics would differ between obese and ideal-weight individuals.

In the present study we considered how do gay men self-identify a chemsex problem and remain chemsex free?
Methods: Using a life course perspective, the present qualitative interview study examined participants' reflections to discern pathways in and out of chemsex engagement. Six participants (aged ≥18 years) were drawn from a cohort of men who had completed the tailored therapeutic Structured Weekend Antidote Program.
Echocardiographic measures of left ventricular (LV) function and structure as well as left atrial size have been reported to predict adverse cardiovascular disease (CVD) outcomes. Although anatomic changes of the aortic root are likely to reflect effects of hypertension and atherosclerosis, few data are available on the predictive value of aortic root dimension (ARD) for outcome in free-living populations. The purpose of this investigation was to determine whether in a cohort of patients aged > or = 65 years ARD was associated with traditional coronary heart disease (CHD) risk factors and with 10-year incident CVD outcomes.

The software integrates care planning and documentation, and includes both order entry as well as a charting application. Prior to initiating the project, a study was conducted to evaluate staff attitude toward computerization, time needed for documentation, and comprehensiveness of charting entries.

We hypothesized that adverse outcome is in part due to intrinsic or acquired abnormalities in coronary endothelial function and vasoreactivity. We compared dose-response curves relating changes in coronary blood flow and epicardial diameter to graded infusions of acetylcholine in 50 African American and 65 white subjects with hypertensive left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) and normal coronary arteries.

Automated documentation systems enable health care professionals to develop dynamic, interdisciplinary care plans. Use of a standardized nomenclature provides a common framework and language for the communication of the plan, and also can support data collection to determine best clinical practices. A comprehensive patient care record will link the interdisciplinary care plan to clinical charting and the documentation of outcomes.

Background: Endothelial dysfunction is an early stage in the development of coronary atherosclerosis and has been implicated in the pathogenesis of hypertension and cardiomyopathy. Amelioration of endothelial dysfunction has been demonstrated in patients with established coronary atherosclerosis or with risk factors in response to infusion of L-arginine, the precursor of nitric oxide.
