Background: There are few and controversial results on 24,25(OH)D and FGF23 acute changes following supplementation with cholecalciferol.
Methods: Twenty-seven subjects with 25(OH)D < 30 ng/mL were randomized into three groups to receive a single oral dose of 25,000 I.U.

Herein, we present PC3 and DU-145, castration-resistant prostate cancer cell lines that survived a clinically used ultra-higher dose per fraction, namely, radioresistant PC3 and DU-145 cells (PC3RR and DU-145RR). Compared to PC3, PC3RR showed a higher level of aggressive behaviour, with enhanced clonogenic potential, DNA damage repair, migration ability and cancer stem cell features.

Methods: Denosumab (60 mg) was administered subcutaneously every 6 months (m) in 27 women (mean age 75 ± 5 years) with postmenopausal osteoporosis and high cardiovascular risk for a total of 24 m. Zoledronic acid was administered in 6 age-matched women as a single intravenous dose.
The aim of this clinical narrative review is to summarize and critically appraise the literature on the differential diagnosis of hypocalcemia and to provide its correct management. Calcium is essential for muscle contraction and neurotransmitter release, but clinical manifestations of hypocalcaemia (serum calcium level <8 mg/dl; 2.12 mmol/L) may involve almost any organ and system and may range from asymptomatic to life-threating conditions.
