Introduction: Concerns have been raised about the potential negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on child development; this issue can be analyzed using the Nurturing Care Framework (NCF).
Objective: To analyze the predictors of neurodevelopment at 12 months in infants born during the pandemic in Brazil, according to the NCF.
Methods: It is a longitudinal case-control study involving 284 infants born between April and August 2021.
Background: Nonpharmacological labor pain management methods (NPLPMM) are noninvasive, low-cost practices that may play a role in reducing the rates of unnecessary cesarean birth. We aimed to evaluate whether the NPLPMM is associated with the mode of birth.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective cohort study with clinical records of all women admitted for birth from January 2013 to December 2017.
Preterm birth is a risk factor for problems in interactions with others. We compared the difference in socioemotional development between hospital discharge and at six months of corrected age of infants born ≤32 weeks and assessed the impact of maternal and infantile factors on socioemotional development rate within a 6 month's period. Mother-child dyads (n = 144) were assessed by the Mother-Baby Observation Protocol 0-6 months through a video microanalysis.
