Background: Biophysical parameters of skin such as trans-epidermal water loss (TEWL), hydration, elasticity, pH, and sebum reflects it functional integrity. Advances in technology have made it possible to measure these parameters by non-invasive methods. These parameters are useful for the prediction of disease and its prognosis.

- The results indicated that polarized mode better visualized certain features like vascular patterns, while nonpolarized mode was more effective for observing details like black dots and tapered hair, highlighting differences in the dermoscopic patterns documented by each device.
