Neuroendocrine tumors account for 0.5% of all malignancies, and their incidence is around 2/100,000 with a female predilection within the age range of 50 years at the time of presentation. NETs in India have a different clinicopathological profile compared to those in Western countries.

Fibroadenoma With Multiple Epidermal Inclusion Cysts Masquerading as Malignancy: An Underreported Entity With Review of Literature.

Fibroadenomas in postmenopausal women are quite uncommon, and so are epidermal inclusion cysts in the breast. The coexistence of both is very rare, and very limited literature is available about this occurrence. We report a postmenopausal female patient with complaints of breast lump masquerading as malignancy on triple assessment which upon subsequent histopathological evaluation was confirmed to be fibroadenoma with intervening multiple epidermal inclusion cysts.

A Phantom Study on Feasibility of Manual Field-in-Field Clinical Implementation for Total Body Irradiation and Comparison of Midplane Dose with Different Bilateral TBI Techniques.

Objective: The aim of this study is to implement a new treatment technique in total body irradiation (TBI) using the manual field-in-field-TBI (MFIF-TBI) technique and dosimetrically verifying its results with respect to compensator-based TBI (CB-TBI) and open field TBI technique.

Materials And Methods: A rice flour phantom (RFP) was placed on TBI couch with knee bent position at 385 cm source to surface distance. Midplane depth (MPD) was calculated for skull, umbilicus, and calf regions by measuring separations.

Implementation and Evaluation of Phantomless Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy Delivery Verification Using FractionCHECK.

Introduction: The objective was to implement the DynaLog file-based automated FractionCHECKTM software which verifies the delivery accuracy of all patient treatments without any measuring devices and evaluate this tool for dynamic IMRT delivery verification of 40 cases. The present work was aimed to find the generalized results with user-defined tolerances of all treatment deliveries and asses the delivery results in terms of Pass/Warn/fail analysis. In addition to this, an in-depth analysis of mean RMS error of each BANK of the MLC's and mean 95th Percentile error of all the leaves and percentage of pixels passing Gamma between the planned and delivered fluences for all 40 dynamic IMRT cases.

Evaluation of antibacterial, antioxidant and nootropic activities of Tiliacora racemosa Colebr. leaves: In vitro and in vivo approach.

The antibacterial and antioxidant potential of Tiliacora racemosa leaf extracts in various solvents (methanolic, hexane, chloroform and ethyl acetate) was determined. Additionally, the presence of bisbenzylisoquinoline alkaloids in the plant prompted us to evaluate the nootropic activity of the methanolic extract in mice. Further, we seek to verify the nootropic effect by examining the anticholinesterase inhibition potential of the methanolic extract.

Quality assurance of dynamic parameters in volumetric modulated arc therapy.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to demonstrate quality assurance checks for accuracy of gantry speed and position, dose rate and multileaf collimator (MLC) speed and position for a volumetric modulated arc treatment (VMAT) modality (Synergy S; Elekta, Stockholm, Sweden), and to check that all the necessary variables and parameters were synchronous.

Methods: Three tests (for gantry position-dose delivery synchronisation, gantry speed-dose delivery synchronisation and MLC leaf speed and positions) were performed.

Relative dosimetrical verification in high dose rate brachytherapy using two-dimensional detector array IMatriXX.

For high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy, independent treatment verification is needed to ensure that the treatment is performed as per prescription. This study demonstrates dosimetric quality assurance of the HDR brachytherapy using a commercially available two-dimensional ion chamber array called IMatriXX, which has a detector separation of 0.7619 cm.

Aim: The purpose of this study is to compare performances of the two dosimetric systems (EDR2 and I'matriXX) in the verification of the dose distributions calculated by the TPS for brain and head and neck dynamic IMRT cases.

Materials And Methods: The comparison of cumulative fluence by using Kodak extended dose rate (EDR2) and I'matriXX detectors has been done for the evaluation of 10 brain, 10 head and neck IMRT cases treated with 6 MV beams.

Respiratory conditions in Malaysian asbestos cement workers.

A cross-sectional study was conducted to determine the prevalence and type of respiratory conditions including asbestos-related diseases among Malaysian asbestos cement workers. The study population consisted of 1164 workers who had undergone medical surveillance from 1995 to 1997, including full history, physical examination, chest radiography and spirometry. More than half the male workers were smokers or ex-smokers, with smokers having more respiratory symptoms and signs, and reduced FEV1 compared with non smokers.

Asbestosis in Malaysia: report on first two cases.

The first two cases of asbestosis in Malaysia are reported. Both had considerable occupational exposure to asbestos dust in the past, with a long latency period exceeding 30 years. One case presented with distinctive clinical and radiological features, while the other case was only confirmed by histological diagnosis.
