In this study, whole genome sequence data of Ladakhi cattle from high altitude region of Leh-Ladakh and Sahiwal cattle from arid, semi-arid tropical region were compared. To gain a deeper understanding of the selective footprints in the genomes of Ladakhi and Sahiwal cattle, two strategies namely run of homozygosity (ROH), and fixation index (F) were employed. A total of 975 and 1189 ROH regions were identified in Ladakhi and Sahiwal cattle, respectively.

The identification of appropriate references genes is an integral component of any gene expression-based study for getting accuracy and reliability in data interpretation. In this study, we evaluated the expression stability of 10 candidate reference genes (GAPDH, RPL4, EEF1A1, RPS9, HPRT1, UXT, RPS23, B2M, RPS15, ACTB) in peripheral blood mononuclear cells of livestock species that are adapted to high altitude hypoxia conditions of Leh-Ladakh. Natural dye extract of lawsonia inermis seed were used as photo sensitizer to fabricate titanium dioxide nanoparticles based dye sensitized solar cells. Pure titanium dioxide (TiO2) nanoparticles in anatase phase were synthesized by sol-gel technique and pre dye treated TiO2 nanoparticles were synthesized using modified sol-gel technique by mixing lawsone pigment rich natural dye during the synthesis itself. This pre dye treatment with natural dye has yielded colored TiO2 nanoparticles with uniform adsorption of natural dye, reduced agglomeration, less dye aggregation and improved morphology.
