A Modified Nickel Titanium Space Regainer Using an Open Coil Spring in a Pediatric Patient: A Case Report.

This case report introduces a novel modification in the space-regaining process using a nickel-titanium (NiTi) open coil spring in a five-year-old male patient with early primary molar loss. The space deficiency, which led to occlusal discrepancies such as posterior crossbite, was efficiently managed using the NiTi wire and open coil spring, which is known for its superelasticity. The modification involved the use of a NiTi open coil spring, enabling effective space regaining and stabilization with band and loop space maintainers.

Methods: A targeted search of terms related to vitamin D and TKA outcomes was performed in PubMed, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, ClinicalTrials.

Objectives: We investigated the impact of anemia based on admission hemoglobin (Hb) level as a prognostic risk factor for severe outcomes in hospitalized patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Methods: A single-center, retrospective cohort study was conducted from a random sample of 733 adult patients (age ≥ 18 years) obtained from a total of 4356 laboratory confirmed SARS-CoV-2 cases who presented to the Emergency Department of Montefiore Medical Center between March-June 2020. The primary outcome was a composite endpoint of in-hospital severe outcomes of COVID-19.

The goal of this study was to describe the extent and time course of cytokine release after r-CABG compared with conventional CABG (c-CABG) and to elucidate the optimal timing for r-CABG in the setting of hybrid coronary revascularization for a future study.
