A dentigerous cyst is a developmental odontogenic cyst occurring most commonly in the third molar region of mandible and maxilla and maxillary canine region followed by mandibular premolar areas. However, dentigerous cyst occurring in association with impacted maxillary premolars is a very rare presentation accounting for less than 0.5% of total dentigerous cyst cases.

Unlabelled: Soft tissue laser, such as diode and Nd:YAG lasers were initially used in soft tissue lesions because of its increased success rate. It was because of the fact that these lasers were well-absorbed by chromophores, such as hemoglobin and melanin which are found abundant in the oral mucosa. The introduction of erbium family in 1990 comprising the Er:YAG and Er,Cr:YSGG lasers made the hard tissue laser a boon for dentistry.

The peripheral ossifying fibroma (POF) is a benign reactive gingival overgrowth; it occurs mainly in the anterior portion of maxilla in young adults, predominantly among females. The present report describes a case of POF in a male patient, which relapsed ten years later and of the lesion showed superficial bone erosion on surgical excision.
