University societies are student-led organisations which provide excellent opportunities for students to collaborate in a shared interest. Peer teaching is gaining recognition as an effective method of medical education. Peer teaching also provides student tutors with core educational skills and provides students with approachable peer mentors.

These are formed by Mn (μ -O) subunits in which the high-spin Mn(III) centers are bridged by three pairs of acetate anions (AcO ). An AcOH molecule coordinates to one of the Mn atoms leading to [Mn (μ -O)(μ -OAc) (AcOH)]-units, designated in short as Mn -units, that are interconnected by acetate anions via the other two Mn atoms to form Mn -rings.

In diabetics, hyperglycemia-induced microvascular complications are the major cause of end-organ injury, contributing to morbidity and mortality. Microvascular pathology is also an important and early feature of AD.

This patient was falsely presumed to have NASH cirrhosis. Detailed preoperative workup ruled this out and led to the discovery of congenital IVC anomaly as the cause of engorged blood vessels in the anterior abdominal wall.

However, health care providers are still reluctant to offer bariatric surgery to older obese patients due to the perceived increased risk and possible reduced benefit. Here, we report the outcomes of first UK series of LRYGB in patients (> 60 years) with emphasis on quality of life (QoL).

Improvement in techniques and perioperative management of patients have resulted in shorter hospital stay and reduced overall costs. Many post-operative protocols aspire to post-operative day 1 discharge with studies showing reduction in length of stay without increasing complications.

It can occur as an isolated genetic condition or be associated with other anomalies and/or syndromes. Seventeen myopia loci have been identified on various chromosomes; however, no specific gene mutations have yet been identified.

Forty patients included in this study were referred by general practitioners with a diagnosis of tennis elbow to the orthopaedic department at a district general hospital over a five year period. All had two or more steroid injections at the tender spot, without permanent relief of pain.

We conducted a case note-based retrospective study of all elderly primary breast cancer patients aged 80 and above between 1992 and 2002. The type of treatment, complications, disease progression, recurrence, and overall survival were recorded.

This is particularly significant in view of the changing demographics in the western population, characterised by an aging population and increased life expectancy. However in spite of favourable prognostic factors and less aggressive biological behaviour, elderly breast cancer patients receive less aggressive treatment when compared with their younger counterparts.

The conversions took shorter times to form the products in excellent yields. HY-zeolite can be recovered and reused.

Impurities are separated and determined on a reversed-phase Hypersil C(18) column using gradient elution of 50 mM ammonium formate buffer-acetonitrile as a mobile phase and detection at 230 nm at ambient temperature. The method is validated with respect to accuracy, precision, linearity, and limits of detection and quantitation.

A ferro-alloy industry with a capacity of 80000 MT per annum was selected to study the nature of pollution. Because of the objectionable nature of polluting air in and around the plant it was located in a rural area where there was no other industry.
