US State Public Health Agencies' Use of Twitter From 2012 to 2022: Observational Study.

Background: Twitter (subsequently rebranded as X) is acknowledged by US health agencies, including the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as an important public health communication tool. However, there is a lack of data describing its use by state health agencies over time. This knowledge is important amid a changing social media landscape in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Anti-industry beliefs and attitudes mediate the effect of culturally tailored anti-smoking messages on quit intentions among sexual minority women.

We conducted a longitudinal randomized controlled experiment between September 2021 and May 2022 to evaluate whether anti-tobacco industry beliefs and attitudes mediate the effect of culturally tailored anti-smoking messages on quit intentions among US young adult sexual minority women (SMW) ages 18-30 who smoke. Participants were randomized to view up to a total of 20 tailored versus non-tailored messages over one month. Outcomes were assessed at baseline and one-month follow-up.

Objectives: Examine family safety-reporting after implementing a parent-nurse-physician-leader coproduced, health literacy-informed, family safety-reporting intervention for hospitalized families of children with medical complexity.

Methods: We implemented an English and Spanish mobile family-safety-reporting tool, staff and family education, and process for sharing comments with unit leaders on a dedicated inpatient complex care service at a pediatric hospital. Families shared safety concerns via predischarge surveys (baseline and intervention) and mobile tool (intervention).

Phylogeny and lipid profiles of snow-algae isolated from Norwegian red-snow microbiomes.

Snow algae blooms often form green or red coloured patches in melting alpine and polar snowfields worldwide, yet little is known about their biology, biogeography, and species diversity. We investigated eight isolates collected from red snow in northern Norway, using a combination of morphology, 18S rRNA gene and internal transcribed spacer 2 (ITS2) genetic markers. Phylogenetic and ITS2 rRNA secondary structure analyses assigned six isolates to the species Raphidonema nivale, Deuterostichococcus epilithicus, Chloromonas reticulata, and Xanthonema bristolianum.
