Type 1 Thyroplasty for Chronic Cough.

Objectives: Type 1 thyroplasty is a vital component of treatment for vocal fold hypomobility, immobility, and atrophy. However, patients with other laryngeal symptoms, including chronic cough, can have concomitant vocal fold atrophy and glottic insufficiency on the exam. Previous work has demonstrated that injection laryngoplasty can assist with treating cough in patients with glottic insufficiency.

Factors Associated With Adherence to a Low Fermentable Carbohydrate Diet in Children With Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders.

Background: The low-fermentable oligosaccharides, disaccharides, monosaccharides and polyols (FODMAP) diet (LFD) has been associated with reduced symptomology in pediatric functional gastrointestinal disorders (FGIDs). The LFD is a complex dietary intervention that may be difficult to follow; thus, there is great interest in determining factors that contribute to adherence.

Objective: To examine whether baseline abdominal pain, emotional/behavioral problems, or quality of life predict adherence to the LFD in children with FGIDs.

Altmetric Analysis of Dermatology Manuscript Dissemination During the COVID-19 Era: Cross-Sectional Study.

Background: Alternative bibliometrics or altmetrics, is a measure of an academic article's impact on social media outlets, which is quantified by the Altmetric Attention score (AAS). Given a lack of data for altmetric trends during the COVID-19 pandemic, we conducted a comprehensive, multivariable analysis of top dermatology manuscripts published during this time period.

Objective: We aim to assess (1) the relationship between traditional bibiliometrics and Altmetrics and (2) factors associated with high AAS.

Children with functional abdominal pain disorders successfully decrease FODMAP food intake on a low FODMAP diet with modest improvements in nutritional intake and diet quality.

Background: We sought to determine how a low fermentable oligosaccharide, disaccharide, monosaccharide, and polyol (FODMAP) diet (LFD) affected high FODMAP food intake, nutrient intake, and diet quality in children with functional abdominal pain disorders (FAPD).

Methods: Children (ages 7-13 years) with Rome IV FAPD began a dietitian-guided LFD. Three-day food records were captured at baseline and 2-3 weeks into the LFD.
