Our results show the location of TRPV1 mainly in the endothelial and smooth muscle cells membrane. Nevertheless, Capsaicin caused vasorelaxation of this artery through a mechanism independent of TRPV1, since the specific antagonists Capsazepine and SB-366791 did not block the effect of Capsaicin.

Objectives: To assess whether combined administration of Cap and Cit has synergistic effects in the FST and to determine whether this combination prevents the side effects of Cit.
Objective: This study aimed to examine the effects of moderate (MIT) and high-intensity training (HIT) chronic exercise on plasma tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) level and its impact on Langerhans islet morphology in healthy rats.
Methods: Two-month old normal male Wistar rats were divided into three groups: control (C, n=6), MIT (n=6), and HIT (n=4). The training protocol consisted in 24 sessions of running on a treadmill at 60-80% maximal oxygen consumption (VO) for MIT, and >80% VO for HIT.

Adiponectin appears to protect skeletal muscles from inflammatory damage induced by oxidative stress. Background: The effect of pregnancy on skeletal muscle still has not been clearly established. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of pregnancy on muscle weight and contractile properties of soleus and plantaris muscles.
Methods: The female Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into two groups: nonpregnant (NP, 250 ± 4 g, n = 8) and late-pregnant (LP, 305 ± 13 g, n = 8).
Cannabinoids are key regulators of vascular tone, some of the mechanisms involved include the activation of cannabinoid receptor types 1 and 2 (CB); the transient receptor potential cation channel, subfamily V, member 1 (TRPV1); and non-(CB(1))/non-CB2 receptors. Here, we used the potent, selective CB(1) agonist arachidonylcyclopropylamide (ACPA) to elucidate the mechanism underlying vascular tone regulation. Immunohistochemistry and confocal microscopy revealed that CB(1) was expressed in smooth muscle and endothelial cells in rat aorta.
