Background: The "Flora of Russia" project on iNaturalist brought together professional scientists and amateur naturalists from all over the country. Over 10,000 people were involved in the data collection.

New Information: Within 20 months, the participants accumulated 750,143 photo observations of 6,857 species of the Russian flora.

A checklist is presented of animal species obtained in 68,903 trawl tows during 459 research surveys performed by the Pacific Research Fisheries Center (TINRO-Center) over an area measuring nearly 25 million km in the Chukchi and Bering seas, Sea of Okhotsk, Sea of Japan and North Pacific Ocean in 1977-2014 at depths of 5 to 2,200 m. The checklist comprises 949 fish species, 588 invertebrate species, and four cyclostome species (some specimens were identified only to genus or family level). For each species details are given on the type of trawl (benthic and/or pelagic) and basins where the species was found.

In the present paper we thoroughly investigated the dynamics, kinetics, and the transport properties of the one-dimensional (1D) mass-disordered lattice of harmonic oscillators with the number of particles N < or =5000. The thermostat is simulated by the Langevin sources. Our method is adequate to any 1D lattice with linear equations of motion.

Ca2+ and Mg2+ metabolism was investigated in 7 angiosperms and 3 moss species from fresh water of different mineral content. It is considered that adaptation in the water with low mineral content is connected with the decrease in salt wastes of an organism. The adaptation of ion-transport system of aquatic plants to living under conditions of low mineralization is higher in mosses than in angiosperms.

The authors suggest a method for making an adhesive permanent denture with parapulpar dowels consisting in the use of a whole cast conductor for drilling parapulpar channels in the patient's oral cavity. The conductor is cast simultaneously with the prosthesis of the same metal, hence metal shrinkage in casting is the same, this being a guarantee of the denture accuracy.

In experiments with albino rats exposed to microwaves (500 microW/cm2), a model of adaptive immunity was developed by transferring lymphoid cells of exposed animals. The effect of microwave radiation was shown to cause autoimmune disorders that were displayed against the background of the structural and functional disturbances of the hematoencephalic barrier.

When studying the immune status of the organism the use of additional exposures allow to clear up the defective character of physiological functions even when overt changes are absent. Altitude chamber hypoxia++, reproduction of allergic reactions of the slow and non-slow types, pathogenic Escherichia infection followed by assessment of virulence factors were used as such a stress under exposure to chemicals, electromagnetic fields of radio frequencies. A model was developed for the determination of safe levels of exposure to environmental factors, which makes it possible to differentiate the damaging and defence action of antibodies on the basis of their influence on the fetus and offspring.

The study was undertaken to determine the main laws of setting-up an epidemiological chain "functional state--predisease--disease" and to define causal and effective relation-ships in the system "environment--community health".

In experiments on albino Wistar rats the autoimmune reactions were shown to be stimulated by the effect of microwaves of 50 and 500 microW/cm2. The authors showed the possibility of the autoimmunity simulation by immunization of intact animals by the brain tissue of exposed albino rats. This process was dependent on the microwave radiation intensity.

The authors discuss the possibility of stimulating the autoimmune reactions of the organism by microwave irradiation. The immunochemical analysis of protein fractions of blood serum has revealed a destabilization of functional activity of the immune system humoral factors at 500 W/cm2 which is manifested by the formation of a new protein with the immunoglobulin G physico-chemical properties.
