Evaluation of change in the vascular density of choriocapillaris on optical coherence tomography angiography in eyes with serpiginous choroiditis.

Purpose: Serpiginous choroiditis (SC) is primarily an inflammation of choriocapillaris leading to nonperfusion. A quantitative assessment of choriocapillaris perfusion can be done by measuring the flow-density by OCT-Angiography (OCTA). This study measures a change in the flow-density of choriocapillaris with the resolution of inflammation.

Real-time polymerase chain reaction in recurrent cytomegalovirus anterior uveitis.

Purpose: Cytomegalovirus (CMV) has been reported to cause anterior uveitis in the immunocompetent people. Recurrence of this viral uveitis poses a mangement dilemma. With real-time polymerase chain reaction(PCR), it is possible to confirm the clinical diagnosis.

Real-time polymerase chain reaction in acute retinal necrosis following encephalitis.

Acute retinal necrosis (ARN) following herpes simplex encephalitis (HSE) in an immunocompetent patient is a rare condition. Quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) has made it possible to identify and quantify viral genome. We report a case of ARN following HSE managed with the help of qPCR.

Prevalence and Prognosis of Pseudoexfoliation Glaucoma in Western India.

Purpose: To investigate the prevalence and reconnoiter treatment modalities for Pseudoexfoliation Glaucoma (PXG) in subjects with Pseudoexfoliation Syndrome (PXF) in a rural scenario of western India.

Design: A prospective prevalence study.

Methods: Occurrence of PXG in 250 subjects with PXF was studied in the Department of Glaucoma, Shri Ganapati Netralaya, Jalna, India, from 2009 to 2011.

Flare up of choroiditis and choroidal neovasculazation associated with punctate inner choroidopathy during early pregnancy.

A 28-year-old, healthy female, who had a recent repeated history of miscarriage, presented with bilateral choroidal neovascular membranes (CNVM), for which she received photodynamic therapy with three doses of lucentis, at intervals of one month each, to which she responded. After five months, the patient again presented with complaints of diminution of vision since 15 days. She had a history of miscarriage two days before presenting to our clinic.
