Methods: Among patients prospectively enrolled (June-2019 and May-2020) in an Institutional Ethical Committee-approved electronic archive, we included those affected by primary gastro-entero-pancreatic (GEP) or lung neuroendocrine tumour and referred by our Institutional clinicians (excluding even minimal radiopharmaceutical extravasation, movement artefacts, renal insufficiency). We observed a 34-year-old man who was incidentally found to have an adrenal mass during surgical follow-up for perforated ulcer. The patient was subjected to I-123 MIBG scintigraphy, 68Ga-DOTANOC PET/CT, and F-18 DOPA PET/CT. Only F-18 DOPA PET/CT showed evidence of an avid adrenal mass.

A case of Von-Hippel Lindau (VHL) disease has been studied using 68Ga-DOTA-NOC PET/CT. PET/CT demonstrated the presence of somatostatin receptors within 2 focal areas in the cerebellum corresponding to the lesions detected by MRI. Considering the heterogeneous lesions localizations in VHL disease, PET/CT may be a useful imaging modality for diagnosing lesions of central nervous system and neuroendocrine lesions and for direct demonstration of somatostatin receptors for targeted treatment.

Unlabelled: Interstitial lung diseases include different clinical entities with variable prognoses. Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), the most common, presents the most severe outcome (death within 3-5 y), whereas nonspecific interstitial pneumonia (NSIP) shows a more indolent progression. Preclinical evidence of somatostatin receptor (SSTR) expression on fibroblasts in vitro and in lung fibrosis murine models, coupled with the longer survival of mice with fibrotic lungs treated with agents blocking SSTR, supports the hypothesis of imaging fibroblast activity in vivo by visualization of SSTR with (68)Ga-DOTANOC PET/CT.
