Purpose: To systematically review and compare ultrasonographic methods and their utility in predicting non-invasive ventilation (NIV) outcomes.
Methods: A systematic review was performed using the PubMed, Medline, Embase, and Cochrane databases from January 2015 to March 2023. The search terms included the following: ultrasound, diaphragm, lung, prediction, non-invasive, ventilation, and outcomes.
Purpose: Deep learning (DL) is a technique explored within ophthalmology that requires large datasets to distinguish feature representations with high diagnostic performance. There is a need for developing DL approaches to predict therapeutic response, but completed clinical trial datasets are limited in size. Predicting treatment response is more complex than disease diagnosis, where hallmarks of treatment response are subtle.

Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) stimulates breakdown of blood-retinal barrier that causes accumulation of fluid within macula. Anti-VEGF therapy is the first-line treatment for both the diseases; however, the degree of response varies for individual patients.
