Recently, apolipoprotein D (apoD), a protein that is involved in the essential polyunsaturated fatty acid (EPUFA) transport and metabolism, and neuronal growth and regeneration was reported to have increased in the postmortem brain and decreased in the serum of schizophrenia patients.
