Biochemical Pathways Regulated by Algae to Mitigate Global Carbon Emissions: A Review.

Carbon dioxide (CO2), being an important greenhouse gas (GHG) significantly present in Earth's atmosphere, has been increasing because of several anthropogenic activities leading to global warming. Globally, various efforts have been made to confront climate change, and various CO2 capture and storage methods have been designed. This review aims at describing detailed studies about algae and the methods used by algae to capture and sequester carbon from the atmospheric environment.

Investigating the Association Between Baseline Characteristics (HbA1c and Body Mass Index) and Clinical Outcomes of Fast-Acting Insulin Aspart in People with Diabetes: A Post Hoc Analysis.

Introduction: The aim of this study was to investigate the association between baseline characteristics [HbA1c and body mass index (BMI)] and the effect of mealtime fast-acting insulin aspart (faster aspart) relative to insulin aspart (IAsp) or basal-only insulin therapy on several efficacy and safety outcomes in people with diabetes.

Methods: Post hoc analysis of three randomised phase 3a trials in people with type 1 diabetes (T1D; onset 1) and type 2 diabetes (T2D; onset 2 and 3). Participants (N = 1686) were stratified according to baseline BMI (< 25 kg/m, 25-< 30 kg/m, ≥ 30 kg/m) or HbA1c (≤ 58 mmol/mol, > 58-< 64 mmol/mol, ≥ 64 mmol/mol; ≤ 7.

Exploring the characteristics of suboptimally controlled patients after 24weeks of basal insulin treatment: An individualized approach to intensification.

Aim: To identify characteristics of suboptimally controlled patients with type 2 diabetes (T2DM) on basal insulin treatment who may benefit from intensive titration or further intensification of treatment.

Methods: A post hoc analysis of SOLVE: a 24-week, international, observational study conducted in 17,374 patients with T2DM inadequately controlled on oral antidiabetic drugs (OADs) started on once-daily insulin detemir. Patients were divided into two groups based on whether they achieved HbA1c<7.

Protective effect of leaves of Raphinus sativus Linn on experimentally induced gastric ulcers in rats.

Raphinus sativus Linn (Cruciferae) commonly known as 'Radish' is a multipurpose herb cultivated in different parts of the world for its edible roots and leaves. The present study was aimed to evaluate the antiulcer activity of leaf extracts of R. sativus Linn on acetic acid induced chronic gastric ulcer and pylorus ligation induced gastric ulcer in rats.
