Demographic changes in pelvic fracture patterns at a Swiss academic trauma center from 2007 to 2017.

Background: Increasing life expectancy has led to higher incidence of fragility fractures of the pelvis. These demographic changes may have a direct impact on fracture patterns. The goal of this study was (1) to evaluate demographical trends in patients with pelvic ring injuries at a tertiary Swiss trauma center and (2) to analyze the influence on fracture patterns.

[Dynamic, proximal muscular pedicled anterior cruciate ligamentplasty (Lindemann). Subjective and objective results in 260 knee joints].

Surgical replacement of the anterior cruciate ligament (Lindemann's procedure) is recommended for recent intraligamentary lesions as well as for chronic lesions of the anterior cruciate ligament, since very favourable results had been obtained from 260 cases. That assessment is based on questionnaire interviews with patients and on objectivated conclusions from post-surgical follow-up checks. Additional reconstruction proved to be necessary in many instances.

[Experience with 250 dynamic, proximal muscular pedicled, anterior cruciate ligament-plasties (Lindemann)].

The diagnostic steps and the indications for the treatment of chronic instability of the knee joint due to rupture (lesion) of the anterior cruciate ligament are discussed. After briefly mentioning the surgical technique we report on 250 dynamic surgical replacements of the anterior cruciate ligament by the proximally based gracile (semitendinous) tendon. For the operations performed between 1976 and 1983 a technique similar to Lindemann's was used.

[Fibromatosis plantaris Ledderhose (Dupuytren's contracture of the foot sole].

Fibromatosis plantaris, also called Ledderhose disease, is presented on the basis of the limited literature available. The possible causes are mentioned. Two cases are reported of patients suffering from fibromatosis palmaris (Dupuytren) on both hands and fibromatosis plantaris (Ledderhose) on both feet simultaneously.

[Experiences and results of 1300 indentation operations for proximal medialization of the patella].

Of 1039 patients, 1300 knee joints were operated on for chondropathia patellae or patellofemoral osteoarthrosis; the results are arranged in tabular form. The basic operation was proximal medialization of the patella by indent operation. Additional interventions like retropatellar should be indicated by an experienced surgeon.

[Plasty for operative treatment of slipping patella-technique and results (author's transl)].

We describe a plasty for stabilization of the slipping Patella. The elimination of the Anti-Bandi-Effect and the simultaneous discision of the distal insertion of the Musculus vastus lateralis and the lateral retinaculum apparatus is of importance. The results 5 months till 5 years after intervention are excellent.

[Modified bridle-plasty in recurrent luxation of the patella].

For local operative correction of slipping patella, we recommend a modified plasty of the patellar retinaculum apparatus. This simple operation can even be performed on adolescents with still open epiphyseal cartilages. The technique of our operation is described.

[Liver tumors and oral contraceptives. Report of a case and review of the liverature].

On laparotomy in a 33-year-old woman presenting with signs of chronic cholecystitis and cholelithiasis, a tumor (diameter 4.5 cm) of the right lobe of the liver was found and resected. It proved to be a hamartoma (focal nodular hyperplasia).
