Thrombotic microangiopathies (TMA) are usually associated with hematological features (RH-TMA). The epidemiology of TMA limited to kidneys (RL-TMA) is unclear Therefore, patients with TMA and native kidney biopsies were identified during 2009-2022 in 20 French hospitals and results evaluated. RL-TMA was present in 341/757 (45%) patients and associated with lower creatinine levels (median 184 vs 346 μmol/L) than RH-TMA.

Evapotranspiration is a key hydrological process for reducing stormwater runoff in bioretention systems, regardless of their physical configuration. Understanding the volumes of stormwater that can be returned to the atmosphere via evapotranspiration is, therefore, a key consideration in the design of any bioretention system. This study establishes the evapotranspiration dynamics of three common, structurally different, bioretention vegetation treatments (an Amenity Grass mix, and mono-cultures of Deschampsia cespitosa and Iris sibirica) compared with an un-vegetated control using lab-scale column experiments.

The choice between Basiliximab (BSX) or Anti-Thymocyte Globulin (ATG) as induction therapy in non-immunized kidney transplant recipients remains uncertain. Whilst ATG may allow steroid withdrawal and a decrease in tacrolimus, it also increases infectious complications. Background: Chronic hypomagnesemia is commonly due to diarrhea, alcoholism, and drugs. More rarely, it is caused by genetic defects in the effectors of renal magnesium reabsorption.

Methods: In an adult patient with acquired severe hypomagnesemia, hypocalcemia, tubulointerstitial nephropathy, and rapidly progressing kidney injury, similarities between the patient's presentation and features of genetic disorders of renal magnesium transport prompted us to investigate whether the patient had an acquired autoimmune cause of renal magnesium wasting.

Introduction: In kidney transplant recipients, belatacept is usually pursued indefinitely after it has been started. In the setting of the belatacept shortage and after having evaluated the benefit-risk ratio, we established a strategy consisting of time-limited belatacept therapy/transient calcineurin inhibitor withdrawal, whose results are analyzed in that study.

Background: The prevalence, prognostic role, and diagnostic value of blood pressure in immune-mediated thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (iTTP) and other thrombotic microangiopathies (TMAs) remain unclear.

Methods: Using a national cohort of iTTP ( = 368), Shigatoxin-induced hemolytic uremic syndrome ( = 86), atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome ( = 84), and hypertension-related thrombotic microangiopathy ( = 25), we sought to compare the cohort's blood pressure profile to assess its impact on prognosis and diagnostic performances.

Results: Patients with iTTP had lower blood pressure than patients with other TMAs, systolic (130 [interquartile range (IQR) 118-143] vs 161 [IQR 142-180] mmHg) and diastolic (76 [IQR 69-83] vs 92 [IQR 79-105] mmHg, both  < 0.

Background And Objectives: The fact that metabolism and immune function are regulated by an endogenous molecular clock that generates circadian rhythms suggests that the magnitude of ischemia reperfusion, and subsequent inflammation on kidney transplantation, could be affected by the time of the day.
