Background And Objective: The role of urine cytology during follow-up for low-grade (LG) non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) is not well established, although cytology has low sensitivity in detecting LG recurrences. Our study aims to evaluate the impact of urine cytology as a complementary method to cystoscopy during follow-up for LG NMIBC.

Methods: Patients diagnosed with primary LG TaT1 bladder cancer (BC) between 2010 and 2020 were included.

Geogenic arsenic contamination of wet-meadows associated with a geothermal system in an arid region and its relevance for drinking water.

Arsenic (As) is an important component in thermal springs, which can reach water sources constituting an important hazard for both the environment and people. For this reason, the aim of this paper is to analyze the geologic and geochemical processes that determine the presence and concentration of As in wet-meadows associated to a geothermal field in Patagonia (Argentina) which is used as water supply. To achieve this, during field surveys temperature, pH and electrical conductivity were measured and water and rock samples were taken.

The expectations of nurses about the implementation of a Barcoded Medication Administration System: a qualitative study.

The implementation of a health system like the Barcode Administration System (BCMA) often disrupts the workflow of nursing staff. Taking into account that system acceptance by nurses is one of the most important factors for successful implementation, this paper describes nurses' expectations regarding the introduction of BCMA. For this purpose, interviews were conducted with 18 nurses in different units of an academic medical center in Argentina.

MRI findings in a remitting-relapsing case of Bickerstaff encephalitis.

A case of remitting-relapsing Bickerstaff encephalitis is reported. The article focuses on its imaging findings and their significance when a clinical differentiation between Bickerstaff encephalitis and Miller-Fisher syndrome is attempted. Signs and symptoms may occasionally overlap.

[Etiologic and pathologic study of respiratory disease in lambs from intensive breeding facilities in southern Spain].

Between 1991 and 1993, it was observed epidemiologically that respiratory disturbances in lambs are associated with high temperatures during the summer. The etiological agent isolated is principally Mycoplasma ovipneumoniae; moreover, Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae biovar A has been isolated in a high number of samples. Histopathologically, an interstitial bronchopneumonia was the main lesional finding; this lesion is associated with previous mycoplasma infection.

Detection of circulating antibodies in patients affected by chromoblastomycosis by Cladosporium carrionii using double immunodiffusion.

The antibodies in sera of patients affected by Chromoblastomycosis are detected using the technique of double immunodiffusion and the mycelial somatic antigens and the culture filtrates antigens of Cladosporium carrionii. From the 13 sera tested 8 have given positive results. The fresh serum from a patient under treatment gives 2 bands, while fresh serum from a non-treated patient gives 3 bands.

Detection of antibodies in the sera of patients with chromoblastomycosis by counter immunoelectrophoresis. I. Preliminary results.
