In the present study, Sugar Remedy, a polyherbal formulation (manufactured by Umalaxmi Organics Pvt Ltd, Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India) was evaluated for its antihyperglycemic, antihyperlipidemic, and antioxidant effects against normal and streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic rats. Type II diabetes was induced in male Wistar rats by administration of a single intraperitoneal (IP) injection of STZ at a dose of 60 mg/kg. Effects of three different doses of Sugar Remedy suspension (185, 370, and 740 mg/kg/day, orally) and Metformin (500 mg/kg/day, orally) administered for 21 days were studied on parameters such as blood glucose, lipid profile, and antioxidant levels.
