Effect of silver nanoparticles and Bacillus cereus LPR2 on the growth of Zea mays.

The effect of Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (Bacillus sp.) and silver nanoparticles on Zea mays was evaluated. The silver nanoparticles were synthesized from Tagetes erecta (Marigold) leaf and flower extracts, whereas PGPR isolated from spinach rhizosphere.

Isolation and characterization of microfibrillated cellulose and nanofibrillated cellulose with "biomechanical hotspots".

Waste biomass of two major milk weeds was separately given combination of chemical-mechanical treatments in order to expose natural cellulosic micro and nano-fibrillated structures (MFCs and NFCs). Compositional and FTIR analysis were initially used to confirm the removal of impurities. WA-XRD and FESEM analysis of MFCs further revealed presence of highly crystalline, fine-shaped materials that resemble carbonaceous structures.

Prevalence of Genotype D and Precore/Core Promoter Mutations in Hepatitis B Virus-infected Population of North India.

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) isolates (21) from Punjab (North India) were studied for genotype distribution and precore/core promoter mutations. Assays of alanine aminotransaminase (ALT) and HBeAg were performed in all isolates. Genotypes were determined in all the samples by restriction fragment length polymorphism and the precore/core promoter mutations were studied by amplification and by direct sequencing of precore/core promoter region.

First report of genotype e of hepatitis B virus in an Indian population.

Twenty-one hepatitis B virus (HBV) isolates from the state of Haryana (North India) were studied for genotype, subgenotype, serotype distribution and precore mutations. Assays of alanine aminotransminase (ALT) and HBeAg were performed on all samples. Genotypes, subgenotypes and serotypes were determined by amplification of pre-S1/S2 regions followed by RFLP and also by phylogenetic analysis of amplified products.
