Double orifice mitral valve, despite being an extremely rare entity, may be encountered on routine echocardiographic studies in adults. The varied morphology of the valve may be complicated by coexisting anomalies of the subvalvular apparatus. We present the cases of two patients with this condition and associated papillary muscle anomalies.

The H. ovalifolium extract was found to be moderately active with an IC(50) equaling 10 microg/ml for inhibition of interleukin-6 (IL-6) in a human monocytic cell line.
