Objective: To determine the efficacy of internal mandibular distraction in treating severe obstructive sleep apnea in infants and neonates.
Design: Retrospective review of medical records of 29 patients who underwent internal mandibular distraction for obstructive sleep apnea secondary to micrognathia.
Background: The double-opposing Z-plasty palatal repair, as reported by Dr. Furlow, is one of the most popular methods of primary cleft palate repair. However, the repair as originally described is difficult to perform on wide palatal clefts.

Tissue expander or permanent implant coverage in postmastectomy breast reconstruction is often challenging. Multiple authors have demonstrated the use of acellular cadaveric dermis (ACD) in nonexpansive, single-stage breast reconstruction. The literature also suggests that tissue expansion may be accomplished with ACD as well for stage reconstructions.
