The reverse scan technique offers several advantages, such as improvements of accuracy and visibility of critical anatomical structures, minimizing chair time, and providing better patient comfort. This was a case report successfully employing the reverse scan technique. A 72-year-old male patient desired to restore his teeth in both jaws, as he experienced difficulty eating and had never worn dentures.

Materials And Methods: The study was conducted on 64 patients with skeletal class II malocclusion. The patients were divided into two groups: 1) 32 patients underwent conventional anchorage, and 2) 32 patients underwent MI anchorage.
The severe gummy smile and a skeletal class II profile pose challenges in treatment. This case report outlines an effective alternative for addressing these problems in a patient with skeletal class II division 2, class II molar relationship, retroclination of upper incisors, and lip protrusion. Treatment objectives included normalizing the overjet and overbite, improving the gummy smile, and establishing a satisfactory occlusion.

This literature review and case report specifically focus on the effectiveness of directly printed clear aligners in treating Class II malocclusions and crowding. Class II malocclusions are characterized by excessive overjet, which often results from skeletal or dental discrepancies between the upper and lower jaws.

However, the open bite in this case report was not a true open bite, as it resulted from the interferences between the maxillary second molars and mandibular retromolar bones. This case report aims to present the management of a true iatrogenic open bite with posterior teeth in centric occlusion, occurring after mandibular setback surgery.

Gingival recession in the lower incisors area after orthodontic treatment is often difficult to predict, due to anatomical factors such as thin phenotype, shallow vestibular depth, and low frenum attachment. A young male patient presented to the clinic with severe Cairo Class I gingival recession at tooth 41 after 2 years of orthodontic treatment.

The treatment for GS should be planned according to underlying causes such as altered passive eruption of teeth, dentoalveolar extrusion, vertical maxillary excess, and short or hyperactive lip muscles. In this case report, a patient with severe GS received orthodontic and gingivoplasty treatment, aided by digital tools such as 3D simulation, smile design, and 3D printed guides.

Open bite correction is a challenging treatment due to its complexity and the requirement for long-term stability, therefore, multidisciplinary treatment is often the best option for achieving stable esthetic outcomes.

This case exemplifies interdisciplinary involvement to ensure the patient received an improved esthetic outcome.
Abstract: The presence of anterior diastemas may compromise the esthetics of a patient's smile, causing mental, and social trauma in many patients.
To evaluate the etiology and clinical features of bacterial meningitis (BM) in adults during 2015-2018 in Vietnam, a retrospective study using 102 patients was performed at the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases. BM occurred throughout the year, peaking in July-September. A total of 80.

In this study, the relationship between xanthine oxidase inhibitory effects and high-performance thin-layer chromatography data of celery seed extracts was established using multilayer neural network (MNN) in combination with principal component analysis (PCA). The constructed MNN-PCA model was stable and had accurate prediction ability with coefficient of determination = 0.

Batchwise adsorption of Pb(II) and other metal ions in single metal system and multi-components system was carried out with varying parameters, such as pH, time and initial concentrations of metals. CR11 possesses the highest adsorption ability for these metals, while the selectivity of individual metal is little.

Aim: Evaluating the role of serial NT-proBNP level in prognosis and follow-up treatment of acute heart failure after CABG surgery.
The complication of myocardial infarction after using intravenous recombinant tissue plasminogen activator (rt-PA) in patients with acute ischemic stroke is rare. Several of these cases have been reported in the first 3 hours after infusion of rt-PA. There is controversy on how to manage treatment of the coronary artery, such as intravenous anticoagulants and antiplatelets, at the same time.

The residual SYNTAX Score (rSS) aims to assess residual CAD after PCI. The association between kidney function and rSS has not been investigated in ACS patients.

Objectives: The authors sought to evaluate the impact of ongoing primary hemostasis disorders on late major/life-threatening bleeding complications (MLBCs).
Methods: Bleedings were assessed according to the VARC-2 (Valve Academic Research Consortium-2) criteria.
To evaluate the association between the single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) rs227493 in the MEOX2 gene and nonsyndromic cleft palate only, this research was conducted as a case-control study by comparing a nonsyndromic cleft palate only group with an independent, healthy, and unaffected control group who were both examined by specialists. Based on clinical examination and medical records, we analyzed a total of 570 DNA samples, including 277 cases and 293 controls, which were extracted from dry blood spot samples collected from both the Odonto and Maxillofacial Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City and Nguyen Dinh Chieu Hospital in Ben Tre province, respectively. The standard procedures of genotyping the specific SNP (rs2237493) for MEOX2 were performed on a StepOne Realtime PCR system with TaqMan SNP Genotyping Assays.

The main etiologic agent is Japanese encephalitis virus (JEV); however, there are also reports of Dengue virus (DENV) encephalitis. The objectives of this study were to determine the proportion of patients with encephalitis due to JEV during the 2014 outbreak in Son La Province in Vietnam and to explore the association of DENV in non-JEV viral encephalitis cases.

Although these materials are highly suitable for integrating a number of genetic analysis techniques onto lab-on-a-chip devices, their low thermal conductivity limits the rate at which heat can be transferred and hence lowers the speed of thermal cycling. However, short thermal cycling times are the key to bringing PCR to clinical point-of-care applications.

Spectroscopy performed on small volumes of liquids can be used to provide a true representation of the composition of the isolated fluid. Performing this using low power instrumentation integrated with a microfluidic platform makes it potentially feasible to develop a portable system.

We present a scalable microvalve that integrates well with standard lab on a chip (LOC) implementations, yet which requires essentially no external infrastructure for its operation. This electrically controlled, phase-change microvalve is used to integrate genetic amplification and analysis via capillary electrophoresis--the basis of many diagnostics.
