Objective: To assess the efficacy and safety of fezolinetant and elinzanetant for vasomotor symptoms in menopausal women.

Data Sources: MEDLINE, EMBASE, and Cochrane databases were systematically searched until August 22, 2024. Because the Cochrane Library included all the identified randomized controlled trials (RCTs), it was unnecessary to search ClinicalTrials.

Background: The decision to perform segmental or extended colectomy in Lynch syndrome (LS) patients with colorectal cancer (CRC) is still controversial. Therefore, this systematic review and meta-analysis aims to provide updated evidence for segmental versus extended colectomy in LS carriers with CRC.

Methods: PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library were systematically searched for studies published until January 2024 comparing segmental and extended colectomies for CRC in patients with LS.

Introduction:  The question of whether assisted reproductive technologies (ART) and ovulation induction are related to a higher incidence of ovarian tumors (OTs) is still controversial in the literature.

Methods: We performed a comprehensive search of PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science databases for case-control and cohort studies that investigated ART and ovulation induction exposure as risk factors for OT in infertile women. Odds ratios (OR) with 95% confidence intervals (CI) were employed for all endpoints.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates the effectiveness of high-dose versus low-dose oxytocin for enhancing labor in women experiencing delayed progress.
  • A meta-analysis of 21 studies, including 18 randomized controlled trials with over 14,000 patients, found no significant differences in key outcomes like cesarean rates or neonatal mortality between the doses.
  • High-dose oxytocin was linked to a significantly higher incidence of uterine tachysystole, indicating that a low-dose regimen may be safer and equally effective for labor augmentation.

Introduction: The efficacy of liraglutide for treating type 2 diabetes mellitus and obesity is well established, but their role in the treatment of weight regain after bariatric surgery remains unclear.

Methods: We searched PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases in January 2024. A random-effects model was employed to compute mean differences (MD) and events per 100 observations with 95% confidence intervals (CI) for continuous and binary endpoints.

Introduction: Gantenerumab is a monoclonal antibody targeting amyloid β protein (Aβ) in early Alzheimer's disease (AD). The authors sought to evaluate gantenerumab safety and efficacy in early AD patients.

Methods: MEDLINE, Embase, and Cochrane databases were systematically searched until 2 December 2023.

The benefit of associating anti-CD38 monoclonal antibodies to proteasome inhibitor (PI)/immunomodulatory agent (IA) and dexamethasone in the treatment of patients with relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma (MM) remains unclear. PubMed, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases were searched for randomized controlled trials that investigated the addition of anti-CD38 monoclonal antibodies to a therapy composed of PI/IA and dexamethasone versus PI/IA and dexamethasone alone for treating relapsed or refractory MM. Hazard ratios (HRs) or risk ratios (RRs) were computed for binary endpoints, with 95% confidence intervals (CIs).
