Introduction: Atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome (aHUS) is a complement system (CS)-mediated ultrarare disease that manifests as thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA) with preferential small kidney vessels involvement. Transient CS activation is also observed in secondary TMA or in patients at risk of developing aHUS.
