In the current years, gas-liquid membrane contactors (GLMCs) have been introduced as a promising, versatile and easy-to-operate technology for mitigating the emission of major greenhouse contaminants (i.e., CO and HS) to the ecosystem.

Most TRIM family members can polyubiquitinate the targeted proteins by acting as E3 ubiquitin ligases. According to current research, TRIMs play a critical role in innate immune response via modifying transcription factors, pattern recognition receptors (PRRs), and key adaptor proteins within innate immunity.

This review comprehensively examines the recent advancements in the synthesis and application of P-CDs, with a particular emphasis on their efficacy in the sensing of heavy metals, which are among the most pervasive environmental contaminants. A detailed comparative analysis is presented by evaluating the performance of P-CDs against their chemically synthesized counterparts based on key parameters, such as optimal operating conditions and detection limits.

Peptide synthesis has opened new frontiers in the quest for bioactive molecules with limitless biological applications. This study presents the synthesis of a series of novel isoquinoline dipeptides using advanced spectroscopic techniques for characterization. These compounds were designed with the goal of discovering unexplored biological activities that could contribute to the development of novel pharmaceuticals.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA new library of peptide-heterocycle hybrids consisting of an indole-3-carboxylic acid constituent conjugated with short dipeptide motifs was designed and synthesized by using the solid phase peptide synthesis methodology. All the synthesized compounds were characterized by spectroscopic techniques. Additionally, the synthesized compounds were subjected to antimicrobial activities.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA library of 1,4-dihydropyridine-based 1,2,3-triazol derivatives has been designed, synthesized, and evaluated their cytotoxic potential on colorectal adenocarcinoma (Caco-2) cell lines. All compounds were characterized and identified based on their H and C NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance) spectroscopic data. Furthermore, molecular docking of best anticancer hits with target proteins (protein kinase CK2α, tankyrase1, and tankyrase2) has been performed.

We have previously conjugated phthalazine and bis(hydroxymethyl)pyrrole pharmacophores to form hybrids bearing antiangiogenesis and DNA interstrand cross-linking activities. To improve the bioavailability, we adopted a benzology approach to design and synthesize a new series of 1,2-bis(hydroxymethyl)benzo[]pyrrolo[2,1-]phthalazines.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA series of 1,2-bis(hydroxymethyl)pyrrolo[1,2-f]phenanthridine derivatives and their alkyl (ethyl and isopropyl) carbamates and 12,13-bis(hydroxymethyl)-9,14-dihydro-dibenzo[f,h]pyrrolo[1,2-b]isoquinoline derivatives were synthesized for antiproliferative evaluation. The preliminary antitumour studies revealed that these two types of bis(hydroxymethyl) derivatives showed significant antitumour activities and were able to inhibit the growth of various human tumour cell lines in vitro. Several of the derivatives were demonstrated to cause DNA interstrand cross-links by an alkaline agarose gel shifting assay.

Here, we conjugated phthalazine moieties (antiangiogenetic pharmacophore) and bis(hydroxymethyl)pyrrole moieties (DNA cross-linking agent) to form a series of bis(hydroxymethyl)pyrrolo[2,1- a]phthalazine hybrids. These conjugates were cytotoxic to a variety of cancer cell lines by inducing DNA damage, arresting cell cycle progression at the G2/M phase, triggering apoptosis, and inhibiting vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR-2) in endothelial cells.

However, electrical injury causing isolated brachial plexus injury without cutaneous burns is extremely rare. We present a case of a 17-year-old boy who sustained accidental electrical injury to left upper extremity with no associated entry or exit wounds.
