Objective: Current literature is insufficient to determine the acceptability of self-sampling as a primary method for cervical cancer screening among women from a regular screening population. The aim of this study was to determine the acceptability of self-sampling among women in the Region of Murcia as a primary screening tool.

Methods: We performed a cross-sectional study between April-May 2021, in a regional sample of 247 women ages 35-65 years.

Newborn screening programs are a fundamental tool for secondary prevention or pre-symptomatic detection of certain conditions. The implementation of a newborn screening program requires an evaluation of effectiveness, safety, cost-effectiveness, feasibility and budget impact. Economic evaluation aims to contribute to the sustainability and solvency of health systems, especially when it comes to informing about financing health interventions with public funds.

[Half a century of newborn screening in Spain: Evolution of ethical, legal and social issues (ELSIs). Part III, social issues.].

Decision making for the development of newborn screening programs is based on not only medical but also social concerns and involves different stakeholders. Part III of the article focuses on their role in the governance of the programs. First of all, we consider the proactive role that health authorities has played in the evolution to an evidentiary model of policy development currently based on evidence, just as in the preparation of an expert, impartial and transparent opinion on health policy and its coordination with the national health system.

["European Commission Initiative on Breast Cancer": Selected Breast Cancer Screening Recommendations from the European Guidelines.].

Objective: The European Commission Initiative on Breast Cancer (ECIBC) has developed new recommendations on breast cancer screening and diagnosis. The objective of this work was to adapt these recommendations to Spanish in order to implement and guarantee the quality and success of breast cancer screening programmes (PCCM) throughout the Spanish territory.

Methods: The new European Guidelines on Screening and Diagnosis of Breast Cancer have been prepared by a multidisciplinary panel of experts and patients (Guidelines Development Group, GDG).
