Objective: To evaluate the relationship between center volume and inpatient mortality after inter-hospital transfer among patients undergoing pediatric cardiac surgery using contemporary real-world data.

Methods: The Kids' Inpatient Database (KID) was queried for cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) cases (CPB) for years 2016 and 2019. Hospitals were divided into three groups based on terciles of volume: "low": ≤103 cases/year, "mid":104-194 cases/year, and "high": >194 cases/year.

Brugada syndrome in infants (<12 months): A case report and literature review.

While Brugada syndrome (BrS) is well described in adults and older children, presentation of BrS within the first 12 months of life is rare and therefore poorly characterized. We report a 7-year-old male with a malignant BrS phenotype with onset at 8 months of age, leading to multiple ventricular tachycardia (VT) and ventricular fibrillation (VF) related cardiac arrests and ultimately his death. The report is supplemented by a comprehensive review of existing literature on infantile-onset BrS and unique features in this population are discussed.

The Impact of a 9-Month Booster Training Using Rapid Cycle Deliberate Practice on Pediatric Resident PALS Skills.

Introduction: The impact of booster training on pediatric resuscitation skills is not well understood. Rapid cycle deliberate practice (RCDP) to supplement pediatric advanced life support (PALS) training is beginning to be used to improve resuscitation skills. We tested the impact of booster RCDP training performed at 9 months after initial RCDP training on pediatric resuscitation skills of pediatric residents.
