Anterior segment ischemia following modified Nishida procedure.

Anterior segment ischemia (ASI) can occur following strabismus surgery on multiple muscles. Procedures such as modified Nishida procedure (MNP) have been developed to reduce the risk of ASI. We report the case of a 68-year-old patient presenting with traumatic bilateral abducens nerve palsies who required surgical intervention.

Muscle Transplantation for Large Angle Horizontal Strabismus.

Large angle sensory strabismus in the form of esotropia and exotropia often calls for bilateral surgery to correct the primary angle deviation. However, considering patients' reluctance to have surgery on the good eye, such large deviations may be managed with true muscle transplantation. The authors present a case series of four patients with large angle esotropia and exotropia who underwent unilateral true muscle transplantation as a single-stage procedure.

Rapid onset of severe ocular injury after exposure to a button battery.

Button batteries are commonly used in many household electronic items and are a potential health hazard, especially in children. We present the case of a 2-year-old girl presented with swelling and redness of her right eye of 3 hours' duration. Examination revealed a button battery that had became lodged in the superior fornix of her right eye.

Non-contact ultra-widefield retinal imaging and fundus fluorescein angiography of an infant with incontinentia pigmenti without sedation in an ophthalmic office setting.

When fluorescein angioscopy or angiography is required in an infant, it is usually performed in the operating theater or neonatal unit. We report a case of an infant with incontinentia pigmenti in whom we were able to acquire angiographic information in an office setting by using an ultra-widefield non-contact system with oral fluorescein.

Tissue glue and iatrogenic eyelid gluing in children.

Tissue glues are commonly used in emergency departments to treat straight-edged lacerations and are advocated for use on the face or head. Although application is relatively quick and easy, this can potentially lead to inadvertent eyelid involvement, with potential medicolegal implications. We present 2 cases of such eyelid gluing with tissue glue after it was used on children for closure of supraorbital lacerations.

Surgical treatment of periocular hemangiomas: a single-center experience.
