The study proved that occupational physical and chemical factors are additional risk factors for early arterial hypertension in the workers exposed; these factors if combined with other well-known ones deteriorate the course of arterial hypertension.

Endotheliocyte structure in the gingival capillaries of patients with chronic catarrhal gingivitis (CCG) in the presence of connective tissue dysplasia and arterial hypertension differs from that in patients with CCG without somatic diseases, which essentially increase the permeability of capillary walls.

Patients with chronic gingivitis and connective tissue dysplasia developed more marked dystrophic process in the gingival epithelium than those with chronic gingivitis without general somatic diseases. These dystrophic processes substantially increase the barrier properties of the gingival epithelium.

The trial enrolled 119 women with systemic undifferentiated dysplasia of the connective tissue (DCT) aged 14-39 years; 86.6% of them had asthenic constitution. Ultrasound most frequently found prolapse of mitral cusps and accessory chord as in the left ventricle.

The study covered 119 women with systemic undifferentiated dysplasia of the connective tissue (DCT) aged 14-39 years. All the examinees had vegetative disorders, 26.1% had a neuroendocrine-metabolic form of hypothalamic syndrome (HS), 51.

Aim: It is the fragment of the trial aimed at the study of demographic indices and components of cardiovascular risk in patients over 55 with known and newly diagnosed arterial hypertension (AH) by referral to outpatient clinic depending on AH type.

Material And Methods: For a week, 140 therapists from 14 regions of the Russian Federation measured AP in all persons aged 55 and older visiting outpatient clinics. A total of 5582 persons were examined.

The aim of our investigation was assessment of enalapril effects in cor pulmonale. 20 patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases complicate with cor pulmonale received combined treatment including enalapril. The course of such treatment led to a significant lowering of systolic and diastolic pressure in the pulmonary artery, systemic arterial pressure, specific peripheral resistance and minute volume in patients with hyperkinetic and mixed types of hemodynamics.

Aim: The analysis of echo-CG morphology of the mitral system in patients with uncomplicated mitral prolapse (MP) in the presence and absence of mitral regurgitation and in patients with severe complications.

Materials And Methods: Echo-CG was made in 116 patients with MP: with uncomplicated (87) and complicated (29) MP, with infectious endocarditis (13), thromboembolism (6), congestive circulation failure (10). MP was diagnosed according to the standard criteria with visualization of the mitral valve from the parasternal approach.

Disordered thyroid status was detected in patients with various clinical and morphological forms of leukemia and with hypoplastic anemia. These disorders present as low triiodothyronine blood concentration and a deficit of this hormone in the body. A certain correlation has been detected between the degree of the thyroid status disorders and the leukemic process malignancy.

The prevalence and patterns of the hypertension syndrome (AH) in young subjects require further study. An examination of 879 young subjects revealed AH in 14.6 per cent; in 84 inpatients borderline AH was found in 20.

Thyroid status was evaluated in 265 patients with gastric pathology. The degree of tissue triiodothyronine (T3) deficiency was assessed versus stage and histologic pattern of tumor. Also, it was measured before and after surgery.

Of 113 patients who were investigated by echocardiography with regard to mitral prolapse, simultaneous tricuspidal prolapse was detected in 13.3% (15 patients), isolated tricuspidal prolapse (TP) was detected in one patient. Incomplete right bundle branch (RBB) was detected in 11 TP patients, complete RBB in one that might be associated with the involvement in the degenerative process of the proximal part of the right bundle branch in the zone adjoining the tricuspid valve.

A quantitative assessment of T3 pool was performed in patients with malignant tumors of the esophagus, stomach, pancreatic head, rectum and colon as well as in patients with chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer and benign stomach tumors. A high T3 pool deficiency was noted in patients with malignant GIT tumors. It was assumed that such a deficiency was indicative of profound disorder of hormone supply of tissues which could be regarded as an endogenous factor of predisposition to the development of malignant neoplasms.

Investigations carried out in various transplantable tumours (Lewis carcinoma, carcinoma-37, melanoma B-16 in mice and sarcoma-45 in rats) did not show 125J-triiodothyronine accumulation by the tumour.

The leading role of the endocellular ways in the T3 formation among the thyroid hormones was revealed. Therefore new approaches to the evaluation of thyroid function disorder are required. On the basis of the radioimmunoassay the authors have devised a new method of the determination of quantitative deficiency of the T3 pool in the body.

Thirteen patients with heart myxomas (11 myxomas of the left atrium, 1 myxoma of the right atrium, 1 myxoma of the right ventricle) were placed under observation. The clinical manifestations of the myxomas were many and varied and depended on the site, size and mobility of tumor, the presence or lack of autoimmune processes (arthritis, pericarditis, myocarditis), and embolic complications. A high diagnostic value of one- and two-dimensional echocardiography is noted in the diagnosis of myxomas.

Fifty-eight patients with chordal ruptures of the mitral valve were examined. The main echocardiographic signs of chordal ruptures of the anterior and posterior mitral cusp were described. The authors provide the results of the use of two-dimensional echocardiography for diagnosing chordal ruptures of the mitral valve depending on the etiological factor of chordal pathology (mesenchymal abnormalities, rheumatic fever, infective endocarditis, coronary heart disease).
