Space division multiplexing (SDM) with Hermite Gaussian (HG) modes, for instance, can significantly boost the transmission link capacity. However, SDM is not suitable in existing single mode fiber networks, and in long-distance wireless, microwave, THz or optical links, the far-field beam distribution may present a problem. Recently it has been demonstrated, that time domain HG modes can be employed to enhance the link capacity.

Although the first analogs were identified and associated with toxicity forty years ago, their biosynthetic origins were unknown. During an investigation of published mollusc genomes and transcriptomes, we serendipitously identified a putative bursatellin biosynthetic gene cluster (referred hereafter as the pathway).

Since mesothelin is highly expressed in these tumour types, we evaluated the therapeutic benefits of anti-mesothelin hYP218 CAR T cells alone, and in combination with anti-PD1 antibody, pembrolizumab. GEPIA analysis was performed using human gastric (n = 408) and colon cancer tumours (n = 275) in TCGA database, to evaluate mRNA expression of mesothelin, compared to normal tissues.

Single-stranded DNA (ssDNA) templates along with Cas9 have been used for gene insertion but suffer from low efficiency. Here, we show that ssDNA with chemical modifications in 10-17% of internal bases (eDNA) is compatible with the homologous recombination machinery. Moreover, eDNA templates improve gene insertion by 2-3 fold compared to unmodified and end-modified ssDNA in airway basal stem cells (ABCs), hematopoietic stem and progenitor cells (HSPCs), T-cells and endothelial cells.

In this article, the application of lasers in different areas of urology is described. The major uses are in urolithiasis, benign prostatic enlargement (BPE), and management of many urological malignancies and other benign pathologies.

The circuit is based on cascaded Mach-Zehnder interferometer embedded silicon microring resonators as variable delay units. The temporal decoding of the multi-tone input signal is demonstrated by tuning the signal with respect to the ring resonator delay and resonance.

Currently, there is no consensus regarding the final restoration choice. Historically, the full coverage crown was the universally selected treatment for endodontically treated teeth.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFOsimertinib is a third-generation epidermal growth factor receptor and tyrosine kinase inhibitor (EGFR-TKI) approved for the treatment of lung adenocarcinoma patients harboring EGFR mutations. However, acquired resistance to this targeted therapy is inevitable, leading to disease relapse within a few years. Therefore, understanding the molecular mechanisms of osimertinib resistance and identifying novel targets to overcome such resistance are unmet needs of cancer patients.

Continent cutaneous urinary diversion pouches are prone to complications like stoma blockage by mucus, metabolic derangements, infection, renal derangements and urolithiasis. Pouch urolithiasis is not uncommon, but presentation of a huge stone burden is rare. We report a case of giant pouch stones in a continent pouch which was a surgical challenge.

In this study, we sought to determine if efficacy of anti-mesothelin CAR T cells is dependent on the mesothelin epitopes that are recognized by them. To do so, we developed hYP218 (against membrane-proximal epitope) and SS1 (against membrane-distal epitope) CAR T cells.

Hospitals and healthcare centers have taken extreme care to minimize the risk of exposure to the virus by restricting the visitors and relatives of the patients. The dramatic changes happened in the healthcare norms have made it hard for the deaf patients to communicate and receive appropriate care.

Aortic diseases requiring surgery in childhood are distinctive and rare. Very few reports in the literature account for the occurrence of multiple thoracic aortic aneurysms in the same pediatric patient because of a genetic cause. We report a rare occurrence of severe thoracic aortic aneurysms (involving the ascending, arch and descending aortic segments) with severe aortic insufficiency in a 7-year-old female child secondary to the extremely rare and often lethal genetic disorder, cutis laxa.

Activated EGFR modulates downstream signaling by altering phosphorylation-driven interactions that promote growth and survival. Secretory carrier membrane proteins (SCAMPs) are a family of transmembrane proteins that regulate recycling of receptor proteins, including EGFR.

Inflammation and oxidative stress are among the key pathways underlying this correlation. Therefore, the present study was aimed to assess the effect of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory compound naringenin (NGN) against chronic sleep deprivation (CSD)-induced mechanical and thermal hyperalgesia in female Swiss albino mice.

Using multi-region whole-exome and RNA sequencing of prospectively collected pre- and post-osimertinib-resistant tumors, including at rapid autopsies, we identify a likely mechanism driving osimertinib resistance in all patients analyzed. The majority of patients acquire two or more resistance mechanisms either concurrently or in temporal sequence.

Here, we elucidate mechanisms of tumor evolution and heterogeneity in metastatic thoracic tumors (lung adenocarcinoma and thymic carcinoma) using whole-exome and transcriptome sequencing, SNP array for copy-number alterations (CNAs), and mass-spectrometry-based quantitative proteomics of metastases obtained by rapid autopsy. APOBEC mutagenesis, promoted by increased expression of APOBEC3 region transcripts and associated with a high-risk APOBEC3 germline variant, correlated with mutational tumor heterogeneity.
