This paper reports the results of gamma irradiation experiments and whole genome sequencing (WGS) performed on vegetative cells of two radiation resistant bacterial strains, Metabacillus halosaccharovorans (VITHBRA001) and Bacillus paralicheniformis (VITHBRA024) (D10 values 2.32 kGy and 1.42 kGy, respectively), inhabiting the top-ranking high background radiation area (HBRA) of Chavara-Neendakara placer deposit (Kerala, India).

Early diagnosis of Parkinson's disease (PD) plays a critical role in effective disease management and delayed disease progression. This study reports a technique that could diagnose and differentiate PD from essential tremor (ET) in its earlier stage using a non-motor phenotype. Autonomic dysfunction, an early symptom in PD patients, is caused by α-synuclein pathogenesis in the central nervous system and can be diagnosed using skin vasomotor response to cold stimuli.

Quantitative analysis of sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate in solid mixtures using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR).

An analytical methodology is proposed based on constant ratio and absorbance correction methods to quantify sodium carbonate, Na₂CO₃ (1450 cm⁻¹), and sodium bicarbonate, NaHCO₃ (1000 cm⁻¹, 1923 cm⁻¹), in solid mixtures using Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. Potassium ferricyanide, K₃Fe(CN)₆ (2117cm⁻¹), was used as an internal standard to get characteristic parameters. NaHCO₃ was quantified using the constant ratio method.
