Methods: We reviewed our institutional experience with emergency hepatectomy followed by transplantation for fulminant liver failure over a twenty-year period. A retrospective review of a prospectively maintained liver transplant database was undertaken at a national liver transplant centre.

Desmoplastic small round cell tumor (DSRCT) is a rare intra-abdominal tumor commonly seen in adolescents and young adult males. Multiple hepatocellular adenomas presenting in a male 8 years post-pancreaticoduodenectomy for islet cell tumor of the pancreas.

We report the case of a 29-year-old male who presented with vague right upper quadrant pain, 8 years following a pancreaticoduodenectomy for a symptomatic pancreatic islet cell tumor. Subsequent imaging revealed multiple lesions in the right lobe of the liver. A diagnosis of metastatic disease could not be out ruled and hence a formal resection was performed.

Antiosteoporotic activity of OST-6(Osteocare), a herbomineral preparation in calcium deficient ovariectomized rats.

The preventive effect of the herbal formulation OST-6 (Osteocare) on the progress of bone loss induced by ovariectomy and concurrent calcium deficiency was studied in rats. Ovariectomy (OVX) and calcium deficiency (CD) resulted in bone loss as evident from decreased femoral weight and density. Treatment with OST-6 at a dose of 250 mg/kg body wt twice a day orally for a period of 16 weeks significantly restored the femoral weight and density.
