This research aims to alleviate caregiver burden and reduce disability in preschool children by establishing model clinics or specialized outreach centers in rural villages, supported by SRM Institute of Science and Technology under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Scheme.

Microplastics, a fast-growing environmental concern, play a crucial role in developing the major pollution crisis that affects nearly the entire surface of the planet. Microplastics are tiny particles, measuring less than 5 mm which are ubiquitous, in occurrence, and found in a wide array of products including plastic packaging, synthetic textiles, seafood, fruits, vegetables, salt, sugar, bottled water, and even personal care products. The presence of microplastics in our environment and the potential adverse health effects they may cause have made them a significant perturbation in recent years.

Presence of Apical Aneurysm and Its Impact on Left Ventricular Mechanics and Mechano-Energetic Coupling in Patients With Apical Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy.

Background: Left ventricular (LV) apical aneurysms (ApAn+) occur in 10%-15% of apical hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (ApHCM) patients and confer considerable morbidity. We hypothesized that ApAn+ adversely impact ventricular mechanics and mechano-energetic coupling in ApHCM.

Methods: Ninety-eight ApHCM patients were identified, of which nine (9%) had ApAn+ and were compared with 89 (91%) who did not (ApAn-).

To test the genetic basis of pleiotropic behaviour, we evolved six lines of independently in environments where glucose and galactose were the sole carbon sources, for 300 generations. All six lines in each environment exhibit convergent adaptation in the environment in which they were evolved.

However, glucose-controlled diabetic patients are also affected by vascular complications due to vascular calcification, and there is a lack of clinically relevant data on BPA levels available in patients with T2DM-associated vascular complications due to vascular calcification.

We sought to apply a simple cardiovascular health tool not requiring laboratory tests (the Fuster-BEWAT score, FBS) to predict subclinical atherosclerosis. This study included 2657 young adults (< 40 years of age). In the prognostic group (n = 894, followed for 13 years until aged 40-50 years at follow-up), the primary outcome was presence of carotid plaque measured by carotid ultrasound at follow-up.

Microspherophakia is a rare developmental abnormality of the crystalline lens with a myriad of ocular and systemic associations. Glaucoma is a serious complication associated with this disorder. Early identification of the disease, timely visual rehabilitation, and appropriate management of the lens and glaucoma can help us prevent blindness from this condition.
