Milking the Alternatives: Understanding Coffee Consumers' Preferences for Non-Dairy Milk.

Consumer interest in plant-based milk alternatives is growing, despite extra charges in coffeehouses. While much research exists on non-dairy alternatives, plant-based milks in coffee drinks remain understudied. This study examines consumer preferences and behaviors regarding milk alternatives in coffee, using the Theoretical Domains Framework (TDF) and the Behavior Change Wheel (BCW).

The imputation of structure in random patterns as a cognitive factor predicting adult picky eating behavior.

We raise the hypothesis that adult picky eating behavior may be related to subjects' tendency to impute structure in random stimuli. We test said hypothesis in an empirical study which operationalizes subjects' objective abilities and subjective decision criteria in discriminating between correlated and independent signals in terms of the classic Signal Detection Theory. A robust regularized Bayesian multiple regression analysis indicates that liberal subjective decision criteria which indicate a tendency to over-impute structure when trying to discriminate between random and correlated patterns are associated with elevated scores of picky eating while controlling for several other variables.

Cardioembolic acute cerebral micro-infarcts in the context of atrial fibrillation after low-dose intravenous infusion of lacosamide.

Lacosamide (LCM) is a well-tolerated and increasingly used second-generation AED, and side effects such as atrial fibrillation are rare and poorly characterized. Supported by a literature review, we share our experience of the management of the first reported case of cardioembolic cerebral infarcts in the context of de novo atrial fibrillation, which appeared following a 200-mg intravenous infusion of LCM for the treatment of non-convulsive status epilepticus.
