Introduction: Intramedullary interlocking nailing is a common surgical procedure for tibial fractures, enabling early patient mobilization. Traditionally, the infrapatellar approach has been used for intramedullary interlocking nailing of tibial fractures, but the suprapatellar approach is gaining attention for its potential benefits. This randomized controlled study aimed to compare the duration of the surgery, intra-operative blood loss, and fluoroscopy time between the suprapatellar and infrapatellar approaches.

There is somatotopic organization of body in motor and sensory cortex of brain. Distal parts of a limb have a much larger area of presentation as compared to proximal parts. So, isolated distal hand muscle weakness as a manifestation of stroke is not so uncommon, but isolated shoulder muscle weakness as a manifestation of stroke is very rare.

Overview: Parkinson's disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disorder that is common in individuals over the age of 50 years, affecting about 1% of the population. Nonmotor symptoms (NMS) are a common occurrence in PD, but they are often ignored by motor symptoms. Studies have shown that NMS in PD show a significant impact on quality of life.

Article Synopsis
  • Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune disease affecting synovial joints, often linked to environmental factors and genetics, characterized by both joint and extra-articular symptoms.
  • The review explores the therapeutic potential of natural products in managing arthritis through three methodologies: in-silico analysis identifies molecular targets, in-vivo studies assess safety and effectiveness in reducing inflammation, and in-vitro studies examine cellular interactions and signaling pathways.
  • Overall, the study suggests that natural compounds could serve as valuable adjuncts to traditional RA treatments, highlighting their anti-inflammatory properties and the need for further research to enhance their therapeutic benefits.

The physicochemical properties of the physiological makeup and the chemical componentof the system make this challenging throughout strenuous procedure. The current review concentrated on in silico modelling of drug disposition, involving absorption process, distribution process, and excretion process and includes thorough knowledge of various database expeditions, the development of a pharmacophore model, molecular docking studies, homology modelling supported sequence similarity and quantitative structure-activity relationships (QSAR)/ quantitative structure-property relationships (QSPR) evaluation along with all information about drug movement and related computational tools for understanding potential chemical and pathophysiological changes. The primary development in ADMET modeling in current times has been the clarification of the function and effective modeling of various transporters.

Introduction: Raised intracranial pressure (ICP) can be due to varied etiology. Differentiating among these various etiologies is crucial in making appropriate therapeutic decisions. A patient with a known past history of the primary or secondary headache of any etiology, when presenting with new onset severe headache, needs to be evaluated with imaging to rule out an alternative diagnosis.

Acute motor axonal neuropathy (AMAN) is a variant of Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS), characterized by acute areflexic flaccid quadriparesis with motor axonal changes and absence of demyelinating findings in electrophysiological studies. A 30-year-old man presented with acute onset flaccid type of weakness involving all four limbs, along with drooping of eyelids. Examination revealed ptosis with restricted horizontal and vertical eye movements.

Spinocerebellar ataxias (SCAs) are a group of both clinically and genetically heterogeneous neurodegenerative disorders. SCA 46 is a rare autosomal dominant ataxia initially described in a Dutch family, clinically characterized by ataxia, peripheral neuropathy, cerebellar dysarthria, and varied oculomotor abnormalities. SCA 46 has recently been discovered to be associated with a mutation in phospholipase D 3 gene.

Despite the successes of immunotherapy, melanoma remains one of the deadliest cancers, therefore, the need for innovation remains high. We previously reported anti-melanoma compounds that work by downregulating spliceosomal proteins hnRNPH1 and H2. In a separate study, we reported that these compounds were non-toxic to Balb/C mice at 50 mg/kg suggesting their utility in in vivo studies.

Despite the recent advances in melanoma therapy, the need for new targets and novel approaches to therapy is urgent. We previously reported melanoma actives that work via binding and downregulating spliceosomal proteins hnRNPH1 and H2. Given the lack of knowledge about the side effects of using spliceosomal binders in humans, an acute toxicity study was conducted to evaluate these compounds in mice.

Spinocerebellar ataxias (SCAs) comprise a large heterogeneous group of autosomal dominant cerebellar ataxias. Despite availability of various conventional treatments, reducing disability and improving the quality of life is a challenge in this condition. In the present case report, based on the clinical symptoms and site of pathology, an Ayurveda-based diagnosis of and was considered.

We report about two young males who developed significant proximal weakness of all four limbs secondary to intracranial hypertension due to intracranial venous sinus thrombosis. Intracranial venous sinus thrombosis can manifest in a variety of ways which includes isolated intracranial hypertension, focal neurological symptoms or signs and acute or subacute encephalopathy. Various false localising signs have been reported to occur in patients with raised intracranial pressure including cranial nerve palsies and extensive radiculopathy.

The number of total knee arthroplasties performed in India and the world is increasing exponentially. The valgus cut angle (VCA) of the distal femur decides the final alignment achieved in the coronal plane. Little data are available regarding the ideal value for an Indian population and there is little consensus whether to use a single value for all knees or to individualize the angle for each patient.

Herein, we report morphology controlled growth of layered VO on VC by the oxidation of V-MXenes at different temperatures and used it as a cathode material for Zn-ion batteries (ZIBs). Hence, the VO nanoparticles are uniformly grown on the VC nanosheets with interlinked disordered carbon which provide fast diffusion and high rate performance in aqueous zinc-ion batteries.

The unique association of myasthenia gravis (MG) with Graves' disease in clinical practice emphasizes that one autoimmune disease can coexist with another or many. The relationship between these two entities has remained controversial till date. Some authors have reported a see-saw relationship between these two entities, MG waning with hyperthyroidism and waxing with treatment of hyperthyroidism.
