Uncommon Caecum Diverticulitis Mimicking Acute Appendicitis.

Diverticulum of the cecum is a rarely seen reason of acute abdomen and it is difficult to be distinguished from appendicitis. The diagnosis is generally made during operation. We have presented this case in order to remember that it is a disease which should be kept in mind in cases of right lower quadrant pain.

A Rare Complication of Biliary Stent Migration: Small Bowel Perforation in a Patient with Incisional Hernia.

Endoscopic biliary stents have been recently applied with increasing frequency as a palliative and curable method in several benign and malignant diseases. As a reminder, although most of the migrated stents pass through the intestinal tract without symptoms, a small portion can lead to complications. Herein, we present a case of intestinal perforation caused by a biliary stent in the hernia of a patient with a rarely encountered incarcerated incisional hernia.

Torsion of wandering spleen as a rare reason for acute abdomen: A presentation of two cases.

Wandering spleen is a rare disease that is clinically characterized by torsion of the pedicle. The congenital absence of ligaments anchoring the spleen to the left sub-phrenic area or an acquired looseness is the major reason behind its mobilization. Unless splenic torsion occurs and acute abdominal clinical symptomatology develops, clinical diagnosis is highly challenging due to lack of symptoms.

Gossypiboma: retained surgical sponge after a gynecologic procedure.

We report on a case of gossypiboma. A 54-year-old woman was admitted to our hospital with abdominal mass. She had undergone a caesarean operation 23 years previously.

Outcome of surgical treatment of intestinal perforation in typhoid fever.

Aim: To represent our clinical experience in the treatment of intestinal perforation arising from typhoid fever.

Methods: The records of 22 surgically-treated patients with typhoid intestinal perforation were evaluated retrospectively.

Results: There were 18 males and 4 females, mean age 37 years (range, 8-64 years).

Evisceration of gallbladder at the site of a Pezzer drain: a case report.

Introduction: The drainage of abdominal cavity by means of tube drains is the oldest method. The herniation of gallbladder through the abdominal wall is very rare. Although there are studies informing evisceration of organs such as small intestines and ovary from drain site; at the literature scanning, no publication has been met with advising gallbladder evisceration from the Pezzer drain site so far.
