Background And Importance: Fusiform middle cerebral artery (MCA) bifurcation aneurysms can be challenging to treat with standard endovascular or microsurgical techniques. The in situ side-to-side bypass technique represents an elegant revascularization option for these aneurysms when trapping becomes necessary.

Clinical Presentation: A man in his 50s presented for evaluation of an incidentally found fusiform, 10 mm, right MCA bifurcation aneurysm with involvement of both the inferior and superior M2 trunks.

We assessed the perceived authenticity of attitudes expressed toward several social groups as a function of whether those attitudes were expressed by the self or by other people, and whether those expressions were automatic (without time to ponder) or controlled (without time constraints). Participants considered their controlled responses more authentic than their automatic responses. However, the same did not happen when considering others' attitudes.

Emery-Dreifuss muscular dystrophy type 2 (EDMD2) is a rare autosomal dominant neuromuscular disorder caused by LMNA gene mutations and characterized by progressive skeletal muscle weakness and significant cardiac involvement. We report the case of a 45-year-old woman who presented with sudden-onset, left-sided hemiparesis and dysarthria. Initial imaging was unremarkable, and symptoms transiently improved, suggesting a transient ischemic attack.

Objective: This systematic review aimed to understand the role of emotion regulation (ER) across the spectrum of disordered eating behaviors and attitudes in adolescents.

Method: A literature search was conducted using the PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases, and 8381 articles were extracted. After removing duplicates and screening, data from 50 articles involving 31,591 participants from 18 countries were included.

Background: Cecal perforation from barotrauma is a rare complication of colonoscopy, even with the use of CO₂ insufflation, which is generally preferred over room air due to its rapid absorption and reduced patient discomfort.

Case Report: A 64-year-old woman with hypertension and dyslipidemia underwent a routine colonoscopy with CO₂ insufflation. Multiple diverticula were noted, and upon reaching the cecum, several parallel linear lesions with spontaneous bleeding, consistent with "cat scratch" colon, were observed.

This paper presents a bond graph model for the dynamics of sit-to-stand (SiTSt) and stand-to-sit (StTSi) motions. It is hypothesized that, for these motions, the central nervous system (CNS) controls the trajectory of the centre of mass of the body (COMB). The model comprises two identical submodels: one submodel emulates the working of the CNS, and the other represents the human body.

A rare case of pancreatic pseudocyst-portal vein fistula in a patient with chronic pancreatitis.

A 60-year-old female with chronic pancreatitis and a history of splenectomy presented with epigastric pain, vomiting, and asthenia. Elevated pancreatic enzymes and CT imaging revealed a pseudocyst in the pancreatic head with suspected communication to the portal vein, confirmed by MR Cholangiopancreatography and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS). EUS-guided puncture revealed high amylase levels.

Unexpected diagnosis: IgG4-related sclerosing cholangitis with normal serum IgG4 levels - Unraveling diagnostic and therapeutic challenges.

Diagnosing IgG4-related sclerosing cholangitis (IgG4-SC) presents significant challenges, especially when serum IgG4 levels are normal and other organs are not involved. We report a case of a 51-year-old patient with typical symptoms of biliary obstruction, including jaundice and abdominal pain. Despite normal serum IgG4 levels, imaging suggested cholangiocarcinoma, leading to extensive surgical intervention.

This article aims to evaluate the adherence to antihypertensive treatment prevalence in the Brazilian population based on peer-reviewed studies which used instruments exclusively designed and/or adapted for this purpose. A systematic review with meta-analysis based on the recommendations of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). The search was carried out in the BDENF, SciELO, Cuiden, PsycINFOe, CINAHL, Embase, LILACS, and MEDLINE databases, as well as the AgeLine, Google Scholar and ScienceDirect academic search engines.

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) remains a pervasive clinical problem associated with significant morbidity and mortality. However, TBI remains clinically and biophysically ill-defined, and prognosis remains difficult even with the standardization of clinical guidelines and advent of multimodality monitoring. Here we leverage a unique data set from TBI patients implanted with either intracranial strip electrodes during craniotomy or quad-lumen intracranial bolts with depth electrodes as part of routine clinical practice.

We present a case of gastro-jejunal anastomotic stenosis due to the progression of malignant disease, successfully treated endoscopically by placing a lumen-apposing metal stent. This case illustrating the successful use of a lumen-apposing metal stent in a complex clinical scenario. This approach can significantly improve patient outcomes, especially in those who are poor surgical candidates or have advanced disease.

This paper presents an approach to enhancing sensitivity in optical sensors by integrating self-image theory and graphene oxide coating. The sensor is specifically engineered to quantitatively assess glucose concentrations in aqueous solutions that simulate the spectrum of glucose levels typically encountered in human saliva. Prior to sensor fabrication, the theoretical self-image points were rigorously validated using Multiphysics COMSOL 6.
