Secondary acute myeloid leukemia early after therapy for Hodgkin's disease--a case report.

A case of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) after successful therapy for Hodgkin's disease (HD) is reported. The patient was diagnosed with stage IIB HD at the age of 25. She was treated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy (RT), and complete remission (CR) was achieved.

Kinetics of Cream Formation by the Mechanism of Consolidation in Flocculating Emulsions.

In this work we propose a theoretical description of the process of creaming of batch emulsions when a sharp boundary exists between a clear serum phase and the sedimenting drops. The creaming is represented as a continuous consolidation of partially aggregated network. The treatment reproduces correctly the trend for gradually decreasing rate of sedimentation as time goes on.

Auditory stimulus pattern discovering in paranoic schizophrenia patients.

Nine paranoic schizophrenia patients and nine controls participated in the study aimed at revealing differences in their ability to discover a pattern of auditory stimuli and to react to changes in environmental probability structure. Two kinds of auditory stimuli were used: high--1200 Hz (H) and low--800 Hz (L), both of 50 msec duration and 60 dB intensity. The experimental series were: series 1 (S1)--simple motor reaction to 50 L tones; series 2 (S2) and series 3 (S3) were identical--a cycle signal pattern (HHLHLL) of 102 tones.

[Electron microscopic diagnosis of oncocytoma and renal cell carcinoma].

Electron microscopic examination of two tumors of the kidneys with similar histological structure (large eosinophilic cells with granular cytoplasm) showed that such tumors may be of different histogenesis (cytogenesis), their morphological picture in the light microscope being similar.
