Correlation between macular changes and the peripapillary nerve fiber layer in primary open angle glaucoma.

Unlabelled: Glaucoma is a leading cause of blindness and the early diagnosis is crucial for treatment and follow-up in the progression of the disease.

Objective: To evaluate the changes in mean macular thickness and volume and compare them with the mean thickness of the peripapillary nerve fiber layer in primary open angle glaucoma, using Time Domain (TD) optical coherence tomography ( OCT).

Method: The examinations were conducted on 275 eyes of 138 patients, as it follows: 203 eyes of 102 patients diagnosed with primary open angle glaucoma in various stages of evolution, representing the study group, and 72 normal eyes from 36 patients, representing the control group.

[Fluorescein angiography diagnosis in Stargardt disease].

The paper present in the first part some general data on Stargardt and its diagnosis. In the second part we present a case showing the importance of the angiographic aspect in establishing the diagnostic.

[The importance of AFG in diagnosis and therapeutic indication in retinal vein branch occlusion].

In the beginning the paper presents some concepts needed to understand the pathological and the angiographic aspects of the branch retinal vein occlusion. In the second part we outline based on exemplification from the authors cases the indications and the relevance of the fluorescein angiography in the branch retinal veins occlusion and theirs complications.

[Visual rehabilitation in aphakia with air lenses].

The article shows a comparative study between two groups of 50 patients operated for cataract in 1990 and 1995. In both of these groups aphakia was corrected with aerian lenses. The study was made to demonstrate the visual problems due to strong convergent lenses, to shows the difficult adaptation to this kind of spectacles and to determine the degree of dissatisfaction of the spectacles wear aphak.
