Broadband blue emission in zero-dimensional perovskites has received considerable attention, which is very important for the realization of stable blue-light emitters; however, the underlying formation mechanism remains unclear. Based on first-principles calculations, we have systematically studied the self-trapped excitons (STEs) behavior and luminescence properties in 0D-(DMA)4PbI6 perovskite. Our calculations show that there is a significant difference between the intrinsic STE luminescence mechanism (∼2.

Selenic acid electrolyte provides the ability to obtain AAO with low porosity and high optical transparency and thus is promising for the preparation of AAO photonic crystals (PhCs). Here, we show the influence of crystallographic orientation of Al on the electrochemical oxidation rate in 1 M HSeO as well as on the growth rate, porosity, and the effective refractive index of AAO.

An alternative paradigm exists in which regions within candidate materials can be magnetized to intermediate values between the saturation limits. In principle, this paves the way to multivalued bits, vastly increasing storage density.

The solidified approach to measuring the CPR is via an asymmetric dc-SQUID with a reference JJ that has a high critical current. We probed this method by measuring CPRs of hybrid JJs based on the 3D topological insulator (TI) BiTeSe with a nanobridge acting as a reference JJ.

However, to date, the specifics of incorporation of the manganese ion into the perovskite lattice and its impact on structure-property relationships are debatable questions. Herein, using high-precision X-ray diffraction of a Mn (2 atom %)-doped STO single crystal, clear fingerprints of the displacement disorder of Mn cations in the perovskite B-sublattice are observed.

Arrays of superconducting nanowires may be useful as elements of novel nanoelectronic devices. The superconducting properties of nanowires differ significantly from the properties of bulk structures. For instance, different vortex configurations of the magnetic field have previously been predicted for nanowires with different diameters.

The nanocrystals were formed from the parent compound BiTeSe on as-grown and thermally oxidized Si(100) substrates using Ar-assisted physical vapor deposition, resulting in well-faceted single crystals several quintuple layers thick and a few hundreds nanometers large. The chemical composition and structure of the nanocrystals were analyzed by energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, electron backscattering, and X-ray diffraction.

Electronic properties of these devices are governed by Andreev quasiparticles (Andreev, A. 1965, 20, 1490) which are absent in conventional SIS junctions whose insulating barrier (I) between the two S electrodes owns no electronic states.

The Boudouard reaction serves for the first time to produce individual monolayer structures on the surface of a metal catalyst, thereby providing a chemical vapor deposition technique free from molecular and atomic hydrogen as well as vacuum conditions. This approach facilitates inhibition of the graphene nucleation from the CO/CO mixture and maintains a high growth rate of graphene seeds reaching large-scale monocrystals.

In situ macroscopic electron transport measurements reveal that superconductivity develops at higher temperatures and manifests a sharper superconducting transition to zero resistance as compared to pristine Pb/Si(111). Scanning tunneling microscopy and spectroscopy show that Au atoms decorate atomic step edges of Pb/Si(111) and link the electronic reservoirs of neighboring atomic terraces.
